May 24, World Schizophrenia day.....
Thank you for the meaningful theme this year... Celebrating the power of community kindness....
But... But.... Is the community really so kind to these unfortunate few?
Perhaps no...

Our society still lacks awareness about this common mental illness and still harbours many myths and misunderstandings....
Let's understand....

Many among us believe that Schizophrenia patients are violent, they assault and kill others, and engage in unlawful practices. This is completely wrong... Schizophrenia patients are mostly secluded and very rarely violent, perhaps it's even rare than the people with no mental illness!

Many believe that Schizophrenia is not treatable. No.... With early intervention, the right treatment and appropriate care, even people with Schizophrenia can recover and have a normal life....

It's really unfortunate that society still isolates and stigmatize people with Schizophrenia. Why? Schizophrenia is just like any other illness which has a biological cause underlying it. It can happen to anyone including you and me.

So, please, let's not have any discrimination to these people who are not that fortunate, let's understand that they also have the right to live in this world with all pleasures, let's be kind enough to see them also as one among us.... So that we can really celebrate the power of community kindness....

Let's work together for this noble cause....

Are you suffering from pain for long time? Do you seek lot of help for your pain and see no results even then? If your answer is yes, read on....

Pain that typically lasts less than 3 to 6 months is called acute pain, which is the form of pain most of us experience. For some people, pain can be ongoing or go away and then come back, lasting beyond the usual course of 3 to 6 months and negatively affecting a person’s well-being. This is called chronic pain or persistent pain.
Living with daily pain is physically and emotionally stressful. Chronic stress is known to change the levels of stress hormones and neurochemicals found within your brain and nervous system; these can affect your mood, thinking and behavior. Disrupting your body’s balance of these chemicals can bring on depression in some people.

There are several ways chronic pain associated with these conditions can interfere with your everyday life. It can affect your ability to function at home and work. You may find it difficult to participate in social activities and hobbies, which could lead to decreased self-esteem. It is also common for people with chronic pain to have sleep disturbances, fatigue, trouble concentrating, decreased appetite, and mood changes. These negative changes in your lifestyle can increase your pain and dampen your overall mood; the frustration of dealing with this can result in depression and anxiety.

If you think this holds true in your case, don't be hesitant to take the help of a mental health professional.... They can perhaps help you with the pain which disabled you for years together....
