How to prevent dental decay from very young age?

Steps to follow as parents
1. Start cleaning your baby’s gum pads after every feed (breast or formula) even before tooth erupts.
2. Avoid prolonged feeding habits especially on demand feeding at night time.
3. Start brushing your baby’s tooth as soon as the first tooth erupts into the mouth with doctor recommended toothbrush and toothpaste.
4. Establish a dental home. Visit a Pediatric dentist by one year of age or when the first tooth erupts, whichever is earliest.
5. An adult should brush your child’s teeth twice daily until 8 years of age.
6. Avoid junk foods. Chocolate is not the only culprit for dental decay.
7. Visit a dentist every 6 months for check up, cleaning and fluoride treatment for prevention.
