Abdul Rasheed T.K from Kozhikode, Kerala, sustained a C5 spinal cord injury after a life-changing accident in 2022. Once a Finance Manager living an active life, he suddenly found himself completely bedridden, without access to proper rehabilitation.

Through Touch FREEDOM, his journey began to change.

Step by step, with the right guidance and his determination, Abdul Rasheed rebuilt his life. Today, he manages most of his daily activities independently, transfers on his own, and can sit in a wheelchair for hours — something that once felt impossible.

He has even returned to work and now travels daily for rehabilitation and counseling, bringing purpose and confidence back into his life.

Surjit Singh from Tarn Taran, Punjab, sustained a spinal cord injury in 2021 after an accident, leaving him paralyzed and confined to bed for a long time. Due to financial constraints, he could not afford a wheelchair, which made even basic movement inside and outside his home extremely difficult.

After connecting with a TGF Peer Trainer, his journey began to change. Through Touch Freedom Independent Living Training, Surjit learned essential skills for daily life. He also received a wheelchair under The Right Wheelchair Programme, giving him the mobility he needed.

Today, Surjit is able to move independently, step out with confidence, and rely less on others.

In January 2024, Aniket Dhake’s life changed after a road accident led to a complete spinal cord injury at the T4 level.

For nearly a year, he depended on others for even the simplest daily activities. The journey was physically and emotionally challenging, and independence felt out of reach.

Everything began to change when he joined Touch Freedom.
Through structured online rehabilitation and constant guidance, he gradually learned to manage daily tasks independently and rebuild his confidence.
Today, Aniket is taking control of his life again — stronger, more confident, and full of hope.

Varinder Kumar from Hisar, Haryana, has been living with a spinal cord injury since 2020. With a damaged wheelchair and limited mobility, he depended on others for daily activities and often struggled with confidence.

His journey changed when through the guidance of TGF Peer Trainer he connected for taking Touch Freedom Independent Living Training, where he learned essential skills to manage daily life more independently. Alongside this, he received a suitable wheelchair under The Right Wheelchair Programme, improving his mobility and comfort.

Today, Varinder has reduced his dependence on others, improved his transfer skills, and is stepping out with greater confidence. His family also feels relieved as he becomes more self-reliant.

He now aspires to stay active and participate in sports — a powerful sign of growing confidence and hope.

Punitha from Thookanampakkam, Cuddalore District, was diagnosed with a spinal tumor and underwent surgery in 2022, resulting in a spinal cord injury. Life after that felt restricted, and stepping outside the house was filled with fear and hesitation.

Manish Kumar from Chhapra, Bihar, sustained a spinal cord injury in March 2025. Soon after, a small bedsore developed and worsened into a Grade 3 condition, making recovery challenging.

With continuous follow-up and guidance from TGF Peer Trainer under the Spinal India Peer Trainer Programme (SIPT), proper care and nutrition practices were followed.

Today, Manish bedsore has completely healed — marking a positive step towards recovery and better health.

Babul Kumar from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, sustained a spinal cord injury in January 2024. What started as a small bedsore worsened into a severe condition, making recovery extremely difficult.

Varsha Chauhan from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has been living with a spinal cord injury since 23 April 2016. What once was a normal life suddenly became filled with daily challenges — even basic household tasks became difficult.

At a young age, after her marriage, Varsha had to manage her responsibilities while struggling without a proper wheelchair. This made her daily life even more challenging. On top of that, she developed a serious bedsore, which further affected her health and mobility.

During this time, she connected with TGF Peer Trainer, who provided continuous guidance and support. With regular follow-ups, Varsha’s bedsore healed completely — marking the first step towards recovery.

A major turning point came when Varsha received a suitable wheelchair through The Ganga Foundation’s The Right Wheelchair Programme. This, combined with the support of the Spinal India Peer Trainer Programme (SIPT), helped her regain confidence and independence.

Rebuilding Life Beyond Limits

In 2016, a car accident changed Rajmohan’s life, leaving him with an incomplete L1 spinal cord injury and fully dependent on his parents.

But that was not the end of his story.

Through the guidance of a Peer Trainer from The Ganga Foundation’s Spinal India Peer Trainer Programme (SIPT), Rajmohan began his journey toward independence.

After completing rehabilitation training, he took charge of his life step by step.

Today, he is:
