Climate changes can significantly impact various infectious agents, such as vector-borne, water-borne, and food-borne pathogens. The healthcare sector bears the brunt of the aftermath effects of flooding.
The emergence of Cyclone Michaung has highlighted the necessity for public health interventions across multiple city areas to mitigate the risk of potential disease outbreaks.
Rela Hospital's medical teams have been actively on the ground this week in relief camps, addressing medical issues in flood-affected areas of Chennai. Mobile medical units have been to several hamlets in Athipet Pudhunagar, Athipettu, and the Ennore region, conducting health check camps that test vital checks, doctor consultations and prescribe basic medications.
These teams have been empathetic and compassionate, providing exemplary patient care. The health camps spanned three days across seven different hamlets/locations.
This initiative has been spearheaded by Rela Hospitals as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) and has positively impacted over 800 families. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the hospital for their invaluable and unwavering support.
