Every year, around 8,00,000 people take their own life tragically. Su***de is a leading cause of death worldwide. But it is also one of the most preventable. Understanding that everyone – not just people with mental illness – is vulnerable to su***de is a great starting point. There is so much to deal with these days. Let us be kind to ourselves and to others by getting the necessary help needed. Remember, ***de is never a solution. It doesn't take away the pain. It only transfers the pain to someone else.

It is sad to hear many youngsters saying that marriage is not for them, it is not what it is made out to be, or it has lost its good ol' charm. They are quick to quote examples of failing marriages all around them (a kind of confirmation bias)! While it is true marriage is hard work and is an enigma in itself (special type of relationship, in fact), what it is not is a "transactional" type of relationship.

Do you experience fear, frequent outbursts, perfectionism, anxiety, or avoid certain people, places, or experiences? These are all ways your past-self is attempting to control your present-self. In effect, someone from the past, who is privy to all your unconscious beliefs and memories is taking control of your present thoughts, choices, and behaviours.

Inner child healing is a way to address our needs that haven't been met as children and heal the attachment wounds we've developed. Some of the signs that says our inner child is still not healed are "destructive coping mechanisms" like turning to alcohol, drugs, shopping, cheating, gambling, procrastination, etc.

Also, people with attachment wounds tend to unconsciously recreate attachment patterns they experienced as a child even in their adult relationships. For example, being avoidant during conflicts, being dismissive of their partner, or having a deep fear of being abandoned by their partner.

Please do not hesitate to meet a Counsellor, if you are struggling in the above areas. Therapy helps.

Many young people (who have experienced too many breakups and witnessed many failed marriages) ask us is there any benefits to marriage. Despite listing multiple reasons, helping them become optimistic, and explaining the purpose of marriage, still for some it didn't cut the ice. We humbly dedicate this post to them 😂
