Essay Writing Competition – Centenary Celebration of Shri Atal Ji

As part of the Centenary Celebration commemorating 100 years of our late Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, an Essay Writing Competition was organized for the interns of SSRHMC, Tambaram and VHMC, Porur, posted at HRID, Chennai.

The theme of the competition was:
“Vajpayee’s Vision and AYUSH’s Role in New India”

All interns participated with great enthusiasm, reflecting on Shri Atal Ji’s visionary leadership and the transformative role of AYUSH in shaping a healthier, progressive nation.

Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas) Celebration at HRID, Chennai 🇮🇳

On 26.11.2025, the officers and staff of HRID, Chennai, along with the Interns of SSRHMC and VHMC, Chennai posted at HRID, gathered to commemorate Constitution Day by reading the Preamble of the Indian Constitution and taking a solemn pledge to uphold the values, ideals, and principles enshrined in it.

As part of the celebration, Dr. Karthikeyan, Officer In-Charge, delivered an insightful talk on the significance of constitutional values and the fundamentals of the Indian Constitution.

The event was a meaningful reminder of our collective responsibility to uphold the spirit of the Constitution in our daily lives.

A special event was held at HRID, Chennai on 7th November 2025 to celebrate 150 years of the National Song “Vande Mataram.” The programme began with a welcome by Dr. D. Karthikeyan, Officer In-Charge, followed by an address by Dr. Kolli Raju, Former Assistant Director & Consultant, highlighting the song’s historical and cultural significance.

Officers, staff, and interns joined together to sing Vande Mataram with great patriotic fervour, marking the occasion with unity and pride. A total of 24 participants — 13 staff members and 11 interns — took part in the celebration.

As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week Celebration 2025, the valedictory session was held at HRID, Chennai on 3rd November 2025.

Dr. Karthikeyan, HOD, Clinical Psychology, and Vigilance Officer, NIEPMD, Chennai, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and spoke on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
Prizes were distributed to winners of the Essay Writing Competition held as part of the celebration.

As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 campaign, a sensitisation session on PIDPI (Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers) was conducted on 31.10.2025 for Camp OPD patients at Thaiyur Panchayat by Dr. Mahalakshmi, SRF(H) and Dr. Venmani Kanal, SRF(H).

Awareness posters on PIDPI were used to educate the public about the importance of reporting corruption and safeguarding whistleblowers.

On 31.10.2025, as a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 campaign, a Capacity Building Training Session on “Procurement of Goods and Services” was conducted for the staff of HRID, Chennai.

Dr. Karthikeyan, Officer-In-Charge, delivered an informative session highlighting the basic procedures of procurement in general and procurement through GeM in particular.

All staff members participated enthusiastically, enhancing their understanding of transparent and efficient procurement practices.

On 29.10.2025, as part of the Swachhta Hi Sewa – Special Campaign 5.0, cleaning activities were carried out in the equipment room at HRID, Chennai. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and better maintenance of workplace infrastructure. Staff members actively participated in cleaning, organizing materials, and ensuring the area was kept neat and functional.

On 29.10.2025, Shri Rajesh Kumar Meena, Senior Translation Officer, DEPwD, who was on an official tour to NIEPMD, Chennai, accompanied by Dr Rajesh Ramachandran, Rehabilitation Officer, visited HRID, Chennai.

The officials were warmly welcomed by Dr. Karthikeyan, Officer In-Charge, and Smt. Chitra Bhaskaran, Lab Technician. They discussed the implementation of Official Language (Hindi) activities at HRID, Chennai, and appreciated the ongoing initiatives of the institute.

The visit provided an opportunity for fruitful interaction regarding the promotion and effective use of Hindi in official work at the institute.
