Joi Maa Kamakhya
Today is Narak Chaturdashi.
There is Story of Kamrup of thousands of years ago, when NarakAsur, a demon king wanted make Kamakhya Devi his wife.
At that time Kamrup was known as PragJyotishpur.
NarakAsur was the king of PragJyotishpur, and he was also a devotee of Kamakhya Devi. In his Profound arrogance and deceptiveness NarakAsur thought that if he marries Kamakhya Devi then he would be able to control the world.
Kamakhya Devi refused repeated proposals of NarakAsur.
Finally to teach him a lesson and to get rid of his evilness Maa Kamakhya set a condition on NarakAsur.

She told him that if he could build 4 staircases from the cardinal directions to her temple from the foot of Nilachal Hill by dawn, she would marry him.

Narakasura almost finished the staircases, but Kamakhya Devi made a rooster crow, thinking it was dawn.
Narakasura abandoned the staircases and killed the rooster in rage.

An enraged Kamakhya Devi appeared in NarakAsur's lair and revealed her form as MahaKaali .
She proclaimed that he would only die if he called upon his death. which meant that she would torture him till he begged for death.
NarakAsur was horrified to see the ferocious form of MahaKaali and begged her to spare him and remember him as a devotee of Shiva, not a demon.
Kamakhya Devi granted his wish and killed him with her trident.

Even today we can see the 4 staircases built by NarakAsur in the ancient times, and in fact we use them to go to my GuruMaa's place from Kamakhya temple.

So, the significance of NarakChaturdashi is to :

♤ Kill the vices (demons) within ourselves.

♤ Release our limiting beliefs.

♤ Remove negativity from our lives.

♤ Release all that is not working for us.

♤ Forgiveness is a virtue and we must forgive those who have wronged us, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

Today we must take a Sankalp of letting bygones be bygones and begin anew for a better tomorrow.

Wishing all of you a blessed NarakChaturdashi.
May Maa MahaKaali bless us all.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

The significance of Sharad Purnima or Kojaagari Purnima
Sharad Purnima, also known as Kojaagari Purnima, is celebrated on a full moon day of the Hindu lunar month of Ashwin. It is also known as Kaumudi (moonlight) celebration, as it is believed that on this day, the Moon through its beams showers amrit or elixir of life on earth. The brightness of the full moon brings special joy, especially after monsoon. The Moon and the Earth get very close to each other, the rays of the moon on this day are specially very nourishing and healing.

Basically a harvest festival, it also has religious significance. It is believed that whoever worships Goddess Lakshmi on this night and observes a fast is blessed even if Lakshmi Yoga does not exist in his/her horoscope. It is believed that Lord Krishna began the Raas Leela on the night of Sharad Purnima. A fast is observed in the day, people eat fruits and avoid eating spices. A mixture of cold milk and rice flakes is taken , kheer is also prepared by many people for the night. It is shown to the Moon and then taken as Prasad.

The practice of drinking cold milk during this fast has its origins in Ayurveda. Sharad ritu brings in very hot days and cool nights. During such weather, ‘pitta’ or acidity becomes predominant in our body. Consumption of milk & rice flakes is a good remedy for ‘pitta’.

In Gujarat, the festival is known as Sharad Poonam, in Maharashtra it is celebrated as Kojaagari. ( "Kojagarti" in Sanskrit means "Who is awake?" ) After Durga puja, this is another important festival celebrated in almost every house in West Bengal and Orissa.
The day brings together two major aspects in the lives of farmers – prosperity promised by good harvests, and spiritual blessings from a divine power which oversees all human achievement and endeavour …

The spiritual import of 'Jaagrati' (awake) is to remain vigilant.
Vigilance in one's heart is the gateway to the Lord's divine abode. When faced with obstacles such as: honor and insult, success and failure, happiness and misery, may we remain in unflinching devotion to God. Each moment in our lives requires vigilance and this in itself becomes a subtle form of 'tapas' - austerity. Those who performed severe austerities without vigilance, succumbed to Maya.
Symbolic importance is, as the night sky of Sharad Purnima is clear and suffused with lunar resplendence, a seeker similarly endeavor to purify his 'antahkaran.' May he transcend body-consciousness and imbibe Brahma-consciousness, in order to incessantly experience Parabrahma…

"I WANT TO REMEMBER YOUR FACE SO THAT WHEN I MEET YOU U IN HEAVEN, I CAN RECOGNISE YOU AND THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN."

When Indian billionaire Ratanji Tata was asked by the radio presenter in a telephone interview:
"Sir, what do you remember when you got the happiest in life"?

Ratanji Tata said:
"I have gone through four stages of happiness in life, and I finally understood the meaning of true happiness."
The first stage was to accumulate wealth and resources.
But at this stage I didn't get the happiness I wanted.
Then came the second stage of collecting valuables and items.
But I realized that the effect of this thing is also temporary and the luster of precious things does not last long.
Then came the third phase of getting a big project. That was when I had 95% of the diesel supply in India and Africa.
I was also the owner of the largest steel factory in India and Asia. But even here I did not get the happiness that I had imagined.
The fourth step was when a friend of mine asked me to buy a wheelchair for some disabled children.
About 200 children.
At the behest of a friend, I immediately bought a wheelchair.

But the friend insisted that I go with him and hand over the wheelchairs to the children. I got ready and went with him.
There I gave these children this wheel chair with my own hands. I saw a strange glow of happiness on the faces of these children. I saw them all sitting in wheelchairs, moving and having fun.
It was as if they had reached a picnic spot, where they were sharing a winning gift.
I felt real happiness inside me. When I decided to leave, one of the kids grabbed my leg.
I tried to slowly release my legs, but the child looked at my face and held my legs tight.I leaned over and asked the child: do you need anything else?
The answer this kid gave me not only shocked me but also completely changed my outlook towards life.
This child said:

*"I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I can recognize you and thank you once again."

Every minute, someone leaves this world behind.
We are all in line, but we don’t know where we stand.
We don’t know how many steps remain.
We can’t move to the back of the line.
We can’t step out of the line.
We can’t avoid the line.

So, while we wait in line—

Cherish every moment like it’s your last.
Hold close the ones who fill your heart.
Find time for the things that matter most.
Let your gifts shine—they’re meant to be shared.
Make the unnoticed feel special and seen.
Speak your truth with love and compassion.
Treasure the small joys; they’re the threads of happiness.
Bring light to someone’s day with a simple smile.
Be the change someone’s been praying for.
Love with all your heart, and let love be your legacy.
Forgive quickly and ask for forgiveness just as swiftly.
Seek peace within, and spread it to those around you.
Tell the people you care about how deeply they’re loved.
Live in a way that leaves no room for regret.
Prepare your heart to leave this world with grace and peace.

And when your time comes, leave behind a legacy of love, warmth, and gentle kindness.
