                                            What are some known risk factors of oral cancer?
Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
◉ The human papillomavirus (HPV) is a family of viruses that are known to cause cancer of the mouth, throat and cervix. Especially HPV type 16,18 are associated with oral and oropharyngeal cancers. 
◉ They cause cancer by binding to tumour suppressor genes and stopping the activity leading to uncontrolled proliferation of cells. 
◉ HPV-associated cancer patients are usually young with no history of to***co use.
