A perfect balance of taste and health and spinach is loaded with tons of nutrients (vitamins, protein, calcium, iron, magnesium in great quantities) in a low-calorie package. Chicken ofcourse is protein rich (use toxic free ). It is a good choice for pregnant women ! Chicken can be substituted with paneer and mushrooms also.

Each day is different!

A number of emotions and mood swings arise during pregnancy and continue through motherhood especially where new mom's can be prone to stress, postpartum depression and adjusting to baby's need. Ensure that the basic needs like getting enough sleep and eating on time aren’t being met because you will then have a hard time dealing with any emotion. There are good and bad days or precisely positive and negative emotions. These might sometimes be expressed through your actions depending upon the situation and emotion. Triggers could be when your baby cries or is cranky, does not sleep, kids don’t listen to you, when they don't eat properly etc ....But this is normal! Remember there is no perfect mother. For your baby, you are the perfect mother and no-one can love your baby unconditionally like you do. There is nothing as such called a "bad mom". Keep your mind at peace and throw away those guilt in you. Believe that you are a supermom and you do the best for your baby. You are capable to easily overcome the everyday challange, emotions on a bad day and still not miss out on your baby's routine and provide them at most care and love in a million ways. Chin up Amma, it's hard to control the situation and trigger and but you can still control your reactions to it.

Five simple steps to collect yourself during these situations and trigger.
💥Calm down, take a deep breath, stop talking for a minute so that you don't loose your temper and words.
💥Reprogram your reaction to the situation
💥Take a break and do something you enjoy or phone a friend
💥Cuddle and kiss your baby
💥Now come back to your best mom version 😜

I hope you can relate to this 😌

Goal achieved ✔️
Approximately 3 hours now!

I am sure that I have annoyed people who want a response faster than I’ve given it to them🙈. I am sorry because I was strictly on a social detox so that I could focus better on life and achieve my goal of reducing social media time to 3 hours a day.

Thanks to this detox, I am actually as peaceful as before this virtual world took over me.

Breastfeeding support ❤️

Thanks to my good friend for the DM, so I could make a video on how to support breastfeeding Ammas. Breastfeeding is a natural as well as a challenging journey to every mother. Be patient and kind to her and motivate her to continue exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months before weaning. Yes, I have faced a lot of pressure and suggestions to start with solids from 28 days which is a culture and tradition in parts of India. But amma, you have to be stubborn with your decision of exclusively breastfeeding for 6 months which will do good to your little one. Family support plays a major role in breastfeeding journey. I am so proud to say that I am completing 5 months of breastfeeding journey with Adhyanth. Thanks husband my pillar of support, my nutritionist mom .sasikumar_24, dad and in-laws for supporting me in this journey 😊

This friend of mine who requested me to post a video has faced a lot of challanges due to very little support from the family. She wanted me to share this... mother in law began to start solids and force fed when baby was 2 month old, postpartum depression, husband not listening to her breastfeeding and parenting choices, Ni**le soreness and bleeding, few family members blaming regarding low milk supply.

why do breastfeeding women have to face all these inspite of her pain???

It's time for husbands and family members to understand and reinforce her for what she is doing. Stop blaming her or throwing your opinions on her, instead try to help and support her in the breastfeeding journey! If not supportive, atleast avoid interfering and finally mind your business.

A big shout out to breastfeeding Ammas. You are doing a wonderful job and please continue to support breastfeeding and educate people around you on breastfeeding because I believe ! Thanks if you are supporting a breastfeeding WOMEN ☺️ If you were unaware of these things, please do it because it's never too late.

Baby wearing was very healing to me after birthing. I was able to feel that me and Adhyanth were physically close and attached. More importantly, I felt very comfortable, safe and it prevented me from a back ache which usually most mother's complaint after c-section. Ofcourse my mother was also enjoying the fact that she could carry him with ease and manage work simultaneously and independently. Babywearing was such a relief for us during Adhyanth's colic days. It also helped me to cope up with my mental health because of the stronger connection with Adhyanth and getting back to my independent lifestyle. However, initially it took time for both of us to get used to baby wearing. Also the fact that it is still not popular among some middle and old aged people here. I had to explain a lot of people who thought that baby wearing was uncomfortable to the infant, spoil them by carrying, baby will not attain developmental milestones, overheat and suffocate the baby and also that I was lazy to carry the baby in my hands. Even if they saw me carrying him for five minutes, they would tell the same and hello... I am maximum baby wearing only about an hour in 24 hours. I feel tired of breaking these myths and now started to give a broad smile and ignore the comments. Ammas out there, some of you would have experienced the same and still struggle to do baby wearing. Don't worry, I always believe that and continue to baby wear when required.

who is to be blamed?

Research shows that women's political participation is always lacking conpared to men. Several studies suggest that women's involvement in politics is a fundamental prerequisite for gender equality and genuine democracy. It as well brings about a change in the public decision making and justice.
It is also observed that very few women are participating in voting, campaigns, knowing the candidates, membership in political parties and especially who know the current political affairs and how the political system work. It has been recorded that women in politics have brought about significant change in infant mortality rate, educational plans, reduced corruption, appreciable schemes for children, women and the society. Keeping all this in mind, it's high time that we women start to talk about the political affairs, gain knowledge, voice out, participate in elections as candidates and voters.

I was extremely awestruck to hear that a young girl like Ms. Udhaya, who has chosen to educate herself in political science inspite of completing a total contrast engineering degree. We immediately thought that she would be the right candidate to speak about this to inspire young minds and women into the political arena. Thats exactly what we wanted in futuristic women series to empower women and make them think about this.

Hurray..💥100th post!

Since my mom and Adhyanth were the reason behind this page, I wanted to do post something connecting all three of us ...and here it is...

You may sometimes not even realize the importance of your mother's words unless you experience the same as a mother. This particular post talks about how I carried on my mom's morning tradition to Adhyanth. I feel these are little things that shaped me and my childhood, I believe it would also help me to shape the childhood of my son. It is important to pass on these little things more than expensive family heirlooms or jewelry. These little things would also keep your childhood memories alive.

You may be thinking to yourself that you don’t have any particular ones like this that are worth passing on to next generation. I would rather say, you would have missed out for one or you would have been keen on creating your own family traditions. Ofcourse you should also be creating your routines and tradition but not foreget to pass these valuable one's.

Its highly essential to jumpstart the day with morning routines and postivity. These simple activities of sensory stimulation helps in the brain development as well as prepares the child for a good day. Do try and let me know! I have mentioned some of the morning routines my mom has followed and the one's I am doing with Adhyanth.

I do follow my morning routines like wishing people around me, getting a warm and cosy hug from my mom or husband, waking up to my little Ganesha idol with a small prayer, thanking for yesterday and reading on positive affirmations or quotes, Smell and taste of a hot coffee or falavoured tea and listening to my favourite music playlist. Let me know if you guys do something like this in the comment box below!

A short video regarding my previous post on Bilingualism and Multilingualism. Right when I wanted to post about this, I saw this informative video in Tamil by Ms. Vaishnavi, Speech Language Pathologist and a good friend of mine.
