Come August, it will be a busy week for all the orthopaedic surgeons in India. Not by operating, but by educating the masses.
August 4th, inaugural day of our Indian orthopaedic association is being celebrated as National Bone and Joint day. During the first week of August, orthopaedic surgeons across India have joined hands in conducting various social activities in various places.
In our Trichy, we are happy to say that our Trichy Orthopedic Society, first city chapter to be formed in Tamlnadu has not missed its chance to give back to the society.
Trichy orthopaedic society has started free disability detection camp and free surgeries for decades which is a forerunner for many social programs.
In this week from August 1 to 7, 2022, we are happy to share that we have trained 2000 persons including school students, college students, ambulance drivers, traffic police persons, teachers and paramedics about how to do CPR and how to handle emergencies. Also we have done free medical camp for public and frontline workers. We have conducted these activities in ER high school, SRM medical college, Indira Gandhi College, Joseph school, Bishop Heber college, BHEL hospital, Police training school, Cauvery Global School, IMA hall, KAPV medical college, Mount litera zee school and MAC Hospital. We have also distributed emergency life saving guide to the volunteers which is a first of its kind.
We, the members of Trichy orthopaedic society thank IMA for their support and various school management in conducting these activities.
I thank the members of Trichy Orthopedic Society who have greatly contributed for the cause. I thank President Dr. S. Jaikish, EC member Dr. K. Balasubramanian, Dr. S. Chockalingam, Department of Orthopedics, KAPV medical college, Department of Orthopedics, SRM medical college, BHEL hospital in conducting the various activities.
