This is your sign to be a nerd and get into science!

Thank you for having me in the room. What an honor it was to rub shoulders with the doctors, social workers, advocates, content creators and policy makers fighting to make health care better for us all.

Happy and proud to continue my work in reproductive health equity and to make care accessible for LGBTQ+ populations đź’•

Let this be your sign to ask the elders or friends parents in your community to host you if you’re missing home! This is how we build community and create a village

Bisexuals in straight passing relationships hold two truths
1. We are oppressed and have higher rates of health issues due to the stigma
2. We are in a position of privilege because heterosexuality is a support system that affords a lot of safety and access

To live a truly q***r life, we must confront the second and look inwards to see how we use this privilege. Queerness is a radical way where we actively work to make the LGBTQIA+ community safer for everyone.

Prioritizing all relationships allows you to grow a support system outside of your romantic partnership and live a truly communal life!

Every month, I host BiBabes, a monthly bisexual support group, not to create a better version of a recognizable q***r narrative, but to make room for late bloomers, married women, and people whose q***rness lives in their boundaries, their care, their grief, and their repair as much as in who they sleep with. Apply to join in my stories!

Plan your life, period. If you decide kids fit in and won’t rake away from your existing lifestyle, then have them! Don’t plan to fit them in because you feel like you should.

Filmed with my dear friend Nadir from who taught me so much about the Ethiopian culture! Did you know Ethiopia follows a different calendar than the one most of the world uses? The Ethiopian calendar has 13 months—12 months of 30 days, plus a short 13th month—and it’s roughly 7–8 years behind the Gregorian calendar. How cool is that?

Ten years ago I ran from Chennai, from trauma and the constant pressure to be a “good girl.” I hoped someone would save me. When I got the chance at 25, I left and never looked back.

This time I came home to honor the part of me that stayed true to herself and survived. In a week I saw dolphins, revisited old haunts, reconnected with friends, and hosted a q***r meetup.

Snapshots of my healing:
1. I just think I look good in this photo (am I wrong?)
2. Rowing again after I quit 12 years because a stupid man cheated on me
3. Visiting the first apartment we moved into where my parents fought nonstop, with my husband
4. Creating q***r spaces with amazing people like after being closeted for so long
5. Running after dolphins on the beach (!)
6. Cafes with friends who kept me afloat during some of the most treacherous times
7. Meeting a sixth-generation herbalist saving the environment
8. Reflecting on how much freedom I have compared to older generations of women in my family
9. Collecting shells like a child
10. Shopping at and choosing exactly what I wanted to wear
11. Endless family rummy legacy tournaments just as my granny would have wanted
12. Relaxing as a family for a change (after 2 fights and a crying match on the drive over lol)
13. A nod to the young me who survived!!! Bitch you did it!!!

The men are going to hate this but telling women they’re good when they stay home and nest is a tool of the patriarchy. We need to be, quite literally, for the streets —- taking up space, travelling, building, advocating, organizing. Your life will become so much better when you tell realize that when you get out there and explore, your life becomes so much better!!!! GO BE FOR THE STREETS
