🍀Speech-Language Pathologists plays a critical role in voice care, particularly for individuals experiencing voice disorders or those seeking to optimize vocal performance.

🍀SLPs assess voice function and provide treatment and therapy to those with voice disorders by developing individualized therapy plans and teaching vocal hygiene practices to avoid further damage and injury . SLPs along with medical professionals (ENTs) help in the preventive care of a voice problem.

A long overdue post!

It was a great experience, presenting on the topic "Need for Early Identification & Intervention of Feeding Issues in Autism” at The International Conference for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders 2023 (ICAN) Dubai held between 28-30th April. I thank Autism Connect and the organisers for inviting me.

Feeding difficulties especially in autism, is a subject close to my heart and it gives me immense joy and pleasure addressing and spreading awareness on the topic.

Listening to, and meeting the stalwarts in the field of autism Dr. Temple Grandin & Kerry Magro was an enriching and rewarding experience, as was interacting with parents and co- professionals

Kids who struggle with motor planning can seem clumsy and might appear slow in learning basic skills. They could take long time to complete daily tasks such as tying their shoe lace. It is advised to focus on one or two activities consistently to help the child acquire the targeted skill.

Feeding intervention is a long process that requires patience and perseverance.
Feeding is the primary need of the body and a skill that a child masters with repeated opportunities.
Improvement in Feeding skills is an equal responsibility of both the parent and child as partners.
