Malaria is a mosquito-borne disease that kills hundreds of thousands of people, mainly children, every year. Malaria's symptoms are caused by parasites and not mosquitoes. Malaria is transmitted when infected mosquitoes bite and inject malaria parasites into their human victim.
Here are some preventive measures you can take to control malaria and stop it from spreading further.
1. Wear full sleeve protective clothing.
2. Spray mosquito repellents.
3. Use a mosquito net at night as mosquitoes get active during the night and pose a higher risk.
4. Keep your home and surroundings clean without junk, waste, or stagnant water.
5. As soon as you find any possible signs of malaria, consult your doctor immediately.

Sun damage is a known cause of skin cancer. The sun may be the source of vitamin D, but its UV rays can also cause first-and second-degree burns, premature aging, wrinkles, blotchiness, and even skin cancer. In fact, exposure to UV rays is directly related to three types of skin cancers: basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and melanoma.

Both UVA and UVB rays can pe*****te the epidermis, put us at an increased risk of skin cancer, and compromise our immune response. Artificial UV rays from the tanning stations can also damage our DNA, leading to mutations that, if not corrected, can transform normal cells into cancerous cells over time. Though our skin produces an enzyme called superoxide dismutase (SOD) in natural sunlight, which is essential in eliminating free radicals; nonetheless, artificial UV rays can be excessively harmful to our skin.

Prudent use of sunblock, wearing hats, and protective clothing when out under the sun can help protect you from harmful UV.

Blazing heat and energy-sapping humidity can spell doom on your health in summer. So make sure you are correctly armed with a nutritious diet to fight off summer meltdown!
Include water-rich fruits in your diet. One of our seasonal favourites is Watermelon. Being a rich source of Vitamin A, it is good for your eyes and immunity. In addition, citrulline plays an important role in the synthesis of nitric oxide, which helps lower blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels. Potassium aids in crucial heart functions, improves muscle work, and strengthens bones.
Make a salad with fresh sprouts or nuts, or juice it up with a pinch of rock salt; Watermelon can energise you right away with a dash of much needed freshness anytime of the day.

Body modifications like tongue piercing entail multiple health hazards.

People can experience allergic reactions or dermatitis if tongue piercing is done with nonsurgical grade stainless steel. In addition, low-grade metal can worsen the infection and lead to swelling and mouth ulcers.

Piercing is also associated with the risk of nerve damage accompanied by prolonged bleeding. In addition, if blood vessels are punctured, it can lead to swelling of the tongue and make breathing difficult.

The mouth has a moist environment and is home to many bacteria. The mouth, therefore, is an ideal place for infection. Piercing not only interferes with speech, chewing, and swallowing but can also trigger the herpes simplex virus or hepatitis B/C.

Most importantly, piercing might cause mouth ulcers from constant friction within the mouth. In many cases, these ulcers can quickly progress to oral cancer.

Therefore, if you decide to get a tongue pierced, consult your dentist and opt for regular dental check-ups post piercing.
