Yellow skin in newborn babies can make parents panic… but in many cases, newborn jaundice during the first week is completely common and manageable with proper care. 💛👶
This usually happens because the baby’s liver is still learning how to remove extra bilirubin from the body. Proper feeding every 2–3 hours helps the baby pass bilirubin naturally through urine and stools.
But parents should also know the warning signs 🚨
If the eyes become very yellow, the colour spreads quickly across the body, the baby becomes too sleepy, or feeding reduces — immediate medical attention is important.
Early monitoring, bilirubin testing, and timely phototherapy (if needed) can help babies recover safely and comfortably. ✨
