If you were to ask me for just "one tip" on importance of Nutrition as a Runner, this is it.. nothing more, nothing less.. "Your Workout is in the Center of Fueling and Recovery".

You "Fuel For" and "Recover From" your Run.... 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃

As much as you are falling in love with Running, you should also take care of the two most important activities around it, Fueling and Recovery. 🥑💘

A Pre and Post Workout Meal/snack is extremely important. Once you realize this and follow it, your muscles get stronger as you move on to achieve significant milestones in your journey.

Your big takeaway : Everything you eat the night before to an hour prior to your workout is supposed to prepare you for you Run, and anything that you eat after your run, is supposed to help your muscles recover.

A good rule of thumb is to eat a mixture of simple carbs and protein prior to exercise, and a good portion of protein after your workouts.

Follow these 5 Hacks to ace your morning Run.

1. Commit to yourself & set a time to workout. Fix an alarm if you find it difficult to wake up on your own. Carving out space in your schedule and dedicating it to exercise makes it easier to follow

2. Pick a group if you do not like working out alone or lack the motivation and discipline to do it yourself. Having someone who pushes you can go a long way in making exercise a regular habit

3. If you are a person who loves spending time alone or looking for some "me time". This is it. Listen to some music, motivational podcast, spend time visualizing your goals or learn a new skill.. choose wisely & win the day to win in life.

4. Your pre-workout snack is extremely important if you run in the morning. While Nutrition plays an important role throughout the day & gives you energy to operate at optimal & give your best at everything you do, the morning snack replenishes your glycogen stores & helps in completing your workouts.

5. Keep a log of your progress. You can choose from a notepad on your mobile, a physical book or any one of the many fitness tracker apps available online. Seeing your own progress can help you aim for more.

I was never a runner until the day I decided I was & believed it to be true. ✔

These 4 habits without question transformed my life & empowered me to begin & complete my daily Run's 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️

Is it time for them to transform yours too?

1. Commit to 30 minutes of exercise. Fix a time and decide to do one activity *every single day*. You may begin by walking, may also want to jog or even run. Start small and make progress as you go along.

2. Set aside time to meditate and visualize your goals, at least 3 times a week. You get what you ask for, visualize and create. Spending time in silence allows you to get a step closer to your goals.

3. Snack on fruits, nuts, berries instead of chips, packed items & sweets. Follow the 80-20 rule. 80% of the time, you consume healthy food & 20% of the time you relish your favorite food.

4. Drinking enough water in frequent intervals allows your body to perform at its best. Your day should not end without you drinking at least 3L of water.

Habits are created when you make small conscious decisions everyday in the direction of your goals.

Mastering this art of creating these habits gives you power to design your life rather than living a default monotonous life. A true power indeed!
