A.N.Radhakrishnan as Managing Trustee and Thirumathi D.Meenaksi Ammal as Trustee. A public charitable trust called Sri Muthukumaran Educational Trust was founded as early as March 1984 as Thirumathi. R.Gomathy as Chairperson, Mr. Radhakrishnan as Managing Trustee and Thirumathi Meenakshiammal as the trust with the sole aim and object of providing education to the poor in the rural areas in the spire of schooling, arts, science, engineering, educational institutions, medical, dental, nursing and other paramedical courses. In the line of objects the trust has, the following institutions of repute have been established over the years. A Hospital with 300 beds at present and to be expanded with 850 beds ultimately was established at Chikarayapuram with all laboratories, others investigation and inpatient treatment facilities and it started functioning catering to the medical needs of the area from September 2008. A medical College was established in the year 2009 in the name and style of Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, at Chikkarayapuram near Mangadu and has been approved by the Authorities to function from 2010-2011.this institute will fall under the category of Telugu Minority Institution. This Medical College has been approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi for admission of150 students in the 1st year MBBS from the Academic year 2010-2011 vide letter No. F.No.U12012/822/2008 -Me (P-II) Dated 14th May 2010.
