Yet another renal Denervation (RDN) with Medtronic simplicity Spyral catheter done successfully at Apollo Main hospital by our team yesterday- 58 year old gentleman with resistant hypertension on 6 different medications with challenging renal art anatomy- ectopic left kidney in Right iliac fossa..finally ended up with 48 ablations in both renal arteries..discharged today..Now on 2 medications- will closely monitor him in the next few weeks to see the effect..Thanks to the entire team and Prof Nattawat from Thailand..

Yet another valvular heart disease treated without the need for open heart surgery!

Tricuspid Regurgitation (Valve leak) is a medical condition which can lead to fluid overload in the body with recurrent hospital admissions and poor quality of life. TRIC valve is a newer treatment option where new valves are implanted via a small pinhole procedure through the groin, which can release the tension in the right side of the heart and avoid fluid overload and re-admissions in the hospital, thereby improving the quality of life for these patients.

We recently did a TRIC valve successfully for a 70 yr old patient. He had metallic mitral valve surgery 20 yrs ago and we did a TAVI for severe Aortic stenosis in 2023. He was admitted with CCF (fluid overload) in another hospital few weeks ago and acute kidney injury (nearly ended up having dialysis there) and decided to shift to us for the TRIC valve procedure. The procedure was done last week and he came for his 1 week review few days ago.
His symptoms are much better after the procedure and his kidney function is normal now.

Interestingly now he has 4 prosthetic valves in his cardiovascular system (1 metallic and 3 bio-prosthetic valve)..

Glad to share that we did 2 successful Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation (TAVIs) on the same day with the Boston’s Accurate Neo 2 valve with conscious sedation. Both patients (71 y and 78 y) had previous PCI (angioplasty) to LMS (Left main artery) by me 3/4 yrs ago.

Considering their stents in LMS and the possibility of a coronary access in future, we chose to go with Accurate Neo 2.
Coronary angio showed patent stents in both patients..25 and 23 mm valve were deployed successfully with single digit mean gradient at the end of the procedure with no Para valvular leak. Both are doing well at home after discharge.
