India Vision Institute India Vision Institute (IVI) is a not-for-profit nongovernmental organization (NGO) with the vision to Augment Primary Eye Care Capacity of India.

This we do by providing
access to primary eye care for underprivileged and rural Indians and through advancing the optometry sector, awareness generation, capacity building, advocacy, and leadership development. Our Eye See & I Work and Eye See & I Learn campaigns reach constituencies where services are lacking and most required – notably adults and children. IVI has undertaken over 2000 vision screening programs in states across India. Over 700,000 individuals from the underprivileged communities (including 400,000 children) have been screened and free spectacles distributed to over 200,000 individuals. Optometrists are in the frontline of vision care services delivery. IVI works to upgrade their skills and build capacity as well as equip them to cope with challenges in their careers. We organise online advocacy, talks, panel discussions, education, skill enhancement, and leadership development programs. Our collaboration with over 45 institutes for programs has covered 20 states and three union territories. Our Strategy
IVI’s Strategic Programs and focus over the next five years will be to:
1. Address the human resource needs of the Primary Eye Care Sector
2. Provide continuing education and support research for the upgradation of
Optometry
3. Ensure equity in access and availability of vision care services and
spectacles for every Indian
4. Advocate for good eye health practices to help prevent avoidable blindness
5. Be a Thought Leader for the eye care sector
6. Assist sustainable development of the Indian ophthalmic industry to provide
good vision care
7. Focus on Uncorrected Refractive Error as a vital part of achieving the
broader goal of Universal Eye Health by 2050
8. Support sustainable development goals to build a healthier world for the
entire population and the environment by 2030.

Position: Manager – Corporate Partnerships

Role: Drive revenue growth through corporate collaborations

Responsibilities:
* Connect with corporates through social media networks and attend meetings / conferences
to join
CSR groups for partnership leads.
* Identify and engage with potential corporate donors.
* Develop strategic alliances and maintain strong relationships with existing CSR partners by
ensuring
regular communication and support.
* Assess industry trends and understand donor priorities to align fundraising strategies
accordingly.
* Assist in drafting tailored project proposals and concept notes for CSR initiatives.
* Coordinate internally with the operations team to gather info and prepare a program impact
report
for submission to the donor.
* Research grant opportunities and prepare grant proposals, applications, and reports working
with
team members and leadership.

Desired Candidate:
Must be a self-starter with a go getter attitude.
Should possess strong communication skills with 2-4 years of relevant experience
from the social sector.
Candidates from other industries having experience in Corporate Sales / Marketing
and interested in a career in the social sector may also apply.

Seeing the Future Clearly in Jhanjra Project Colliery, West Bengal:

India Vision Institute, with support from Gainwell Commosales Pvt. Ltd., launched on October 13 a vision screening program in Nabaghanapur, West Bengal. The initiative will screen 1,500 community members and schoolchildren, helping detect vision problems early and provide free corrective glasses to those in need.

The launch was presided over by Shri Narendranath Chakraborty, MLA, Pandaveswar constituency, in the presence of Prabir Kumar Mondal, General Manager, Jhanjra Area, Eastern Coalfields Limited; Tairun Bibi, Panchayat Pradhan, and from Gainwell, Jhanjra Project— Satyajit Bhandary, AM - Admin & Technical Coordinator; Somnath Ganguly, Head, Cluster-1 (Eastern Zone-A); Mahesh Prasad Bind, Head, Cluster-2 (Eastern Zone-B); and Anish Shrivastava, DGM - UG Mining Project.

IVI's CEO Vinod Daniel said, “Through collaborations like this, we continue to take vision care to where it’s needed most — ensuring no individual is held back by poor vision.”

Love Your Eyes this World Sight Day!

Cricket legend Kris Srikkanth launched our World Sight Day 2025 campaign in Chennai, taking the Love Your Eyes message to commercial vehicle drivers and children in urban shelters. Ramachandran P, Chair of IVI’s Advisory Committee, was present at the launch.

Over 80,000 commercial drivers will benefit from free eye screenings in the coming months, promoting safer roads and better livelihoods. The campaign's support to homeless schoolchildren through free eye tests and spectacles will help them see clearly and pursue their studies with confidence.

Congratulations to Rajeev Prasad on his new role as President-Elect of World Council Of Optometry (2025–27).

Rajeev has been a good friend of IVI and also in his capacity as a senior office-bearer of the Indian Optometric Association (IOA), has contributed to our activities. He has also participated in our international conferences as a Keynote Speaker and panellist, sharing insights on CVI and Low Vision.
