WORLD FIRST MODEL OF BLOOD LETTING DEVICE INVENTED BY THE GREAT MUSLIM SCIENTIST, SCHOLAR, INVENTOR , MECHANICAL ENGINEER, ARTISAN ,AND MATHEMATICIAN .BADĪʿ AZ-ZAMAN ABU L-ʿIZZ IBN ISMĀʿĪL IBN AR-RAZĀZ AL-JAZARĪ (1136–1206) بديع الزمان أَبُ اَلْعِزِ إبْنُ إسْماعِيلِ إبْنُ الرِّزاز الجزري‎,

Model of a blood letting device as described by muslim scholar Al-Jazari in AD 1204-6, and reconstructed in 1977. It measured the blood lost during phlebotomy (blood-letting) sessions, a popular therapy in the world. It is illustrated in Al-Jazari's manuscript, the Kitab fi ma'rifat al- hiyal al-handasiyya ('Book of Knowledge and Ingenious Mechanical Devices'), which was written in 1206.

Two scribes are seated above the device and their actions describe the amount of blood to be let. No record is available before that time about blood letting containers. Al-Jazârî made four blood letting containers by using the balance principle.

The tool is in the shape of a basin that is placed on a basis. There stands a monk on the platform in the center of container. The monk holds a rod in his hand and one point of rod lies towards the edge of the container which is marked from 1 to 120. The tool is placed infront of the person whose blood will be taken. Blood is taken into the container. When 1 drachm blood is accumulated in the container, rod in monk’s hand reaches to first sign. When the blood quantity increases, monk turns with his rod to show blood.

The great Muslim scientist, geographer SHAMS AL DIN AL DIMASHQI (13th century C.E) handed down a description and a delineation of a large multiple still for making rose petal extract commonly used in Damascus. Al dimashqi tells us they were up to 1.5 times the size of a man. In the 16th century, C.E at the latest, this type of device was introduced to Italy

Bhangra, بھنگرہ ،بھر نگ راج،
Eclipta alba is known plant of unani systems of medicine .

Bhangra is a medicinal plant and used for treatment of diseases in unani system of medicine from thousands of years

Bhangra is very effective for intelligence and memory, cures bile disorders and prevents hair greying and falling of hairs.

It's beneficial for hair, skin, teeth and eyes, removes worms, and also effective in jaundice and oedema.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANT BHANGRA

BHANGRA is creeping herb about 3mt in height. It is annual, erect and branched herb often rooting at nodes.

BHANGRA has WHITE, YELLOW, AND BLACK colored flowers with long stalk is placed on short, flat and rounded stem.

Leaves are opposite, sessile and lance shaped. Well-developed roots of this plant are cylindrical and grayish in color.

Floral heads are white in color, solitary, winged narrowly and about 6-8mm in diameter.

This plant is moisture loving and grows in moist places throughout world.

BHANGRA is native of India and Southwest America. It occurs as a w**d and found throughout India in paddy growing fields.

In many parts of India it is grown for medicinal purposes. It is also found in China and Brazil.

Take Haldi ka powder (Curcuma longa powder): 100 gm,Majeth powder (Rubia cordifolia powder): 100 gms,and White mustard powder (Brassica nigra) powder 100 gms and Fry mustard lightly by adding few drops ghee and make powder.

All the above powder Mix it well, then sieve in a fine cloth and store in a bottle.

Add little ghee to 2 to 3 spoons of above powder and apply to the affected part in the form of thick paste. Let it dry and later wash.

Tukhm-e-Babchi (Psoralia corylifolia Linn. seeds) are odourless but on chewing they emit a pungent odour and have a bitter unpleasant acrid taste derived from babchi(Psoralia corylifolia Linn.) plant.

Psoralen and Isopsoralen are considered therapeutically active constituents of these seeds.

*TREATMENT OF BARS (ELAJ )*

Vitiligo has many stages and it is of different clinical types. It is therefore necessary for the physician to choose the right drug combinations according to the patient’s temperament (Mizaj).

Being chronic and long standing disease it always takes time to show response of the drug.

Larger and older spots takes longer time and thus exact duration of treatment cannot be predicted at the initial stage of therapy.

In Unani system of medicine we use single and compound preparations. Both local and oral medicines are recommended for the treatment of Bars

1. Food items that are supposed to produce Blood impurities (Fasad-ud- Dam) for example:

Eggs, Fish, Beef, Brinjal and combination of heavy and light food mixed simultaneously.

2. Food articles that are supposed to increase the production of phlegm (Balgham) are:

Milk, Curd, Buttermilk, Lemon and Lime, Tamarind, Oranges and other citrus fruits, Red Sorrel, Parsley, Custard apple, Guaua, Prunus, Dates, Melon, Water melon, Tomatoes (if sour), Amla and Indian sorrel.
