On 21.04.2026 (Tuesday), a First Aid Camp was conducted at Sri Ramanujar Temple, Sriperumbudur, organized by the Department of Community, Geriatrics and Palliative Care and led by PG Dr. Srivatsan M.
One beneficiary received physiotherapy care. A few others underwent basic health check-ups including blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose awareness, and health education on physical activity and lifestyle measures for blood pressure and diabetes control.

The Department of Community, Geriatric, and Palliative Care, SIMATS College of Physiotherapy, conducted a UBA field camp at Molachur Ward-4 on dehydration awareness and screening.
Led by PG Dr. Srivatsan M with four undergraduate students ( Gomathi, jemi, mridhula and kezia) the team performed household screening and educated the public on signs of dehydration, adequate fluid intake, ORS use, risk groups, and prevention during hot weather.
The camp strengthened community awareness and the team’s field-based public health skills.

A general health camp was conducted on 20.04.2026 (Monday) at the Ramanujar Temple, organized by the Department of Community Geriatrics and Palliative Care and led by PG Dr. Tamil Ponni.
The camp provided physiotherapy and basic healthcare services to over 10 participants, addressing issues like joint pain, back pain, and mobility limitations. Assessments, treatment, home exercise advice, and health education on posture, physical activity, and fall prevention were delivered.

A rural health camp was conducted on 04.04.2026 (Saturday) at Koloor, Ponneri, a highly remote area with limited access to basic medical facilities. The camp was organized under the Department of Community Geriatrics and Palliative Care, SIMATS.
The camp was led by PG Akshya S along with Intern Mohamed Amjadh. The primary objective was to provide essential physiotherapy and basic healthcare services to the underserved rural population. More than 27 individuals, predominantly elderly, attended the camp with complaints such as joint pain, low back pain, mobility issues and age-related functional limitations. Each participant was assessed and appropriate physiotherapy interventions along with home exercise advice were provided.
Health education was also delivered focusing on the importance of regular physical activity, posture correction, fall prevention and self-management strategies. The camp successfully addressed the immediate rehabilitation needs of the community and emphasized the importance of extending healthcare services to rural and underserved areas.
