Annamalai Polytechnic College in Kanadukathan, part of the Chettinad Education Trust, offers diploma courses for the young adults in the villages.

They do not just impart technical knowledge..they make sure the rural youth receive holistic development.
As part of that they organised a week-long orientation program for the freshers which included Life Skills Education as well.

Ms Srividya Sudharson facilitated the Life Skills session which helped the students deepen their self awareness and become more resilient.

ONLINE SUMMER CAMP
We organize an online Summer Camp for the children's club of Hyundai Motors.

The audience were children of their employees in the ages 15-18.
Topics included, Self Awareness and Goal Setting, Communication and interpersonal skills, Emotional management and Stress management and Building Resilience.
To make the sessions Interesting we incorporated group discussions, introspective activities, Art activities etc.

In association with FASA we conducted a Poster Making Competition to create awareness about 'Violence Against Women'.
Students from three colleges, SSS Jain college, CTTE college and Soka Ikeda college, participated. The best three were selected from each of the colleges.
Soka Ikeda college hosted a seminar on 'Stop Violence Against Women and Empowering them. Ms.Rupa and Dr.Shathi spoke on the topic and distributed the prizes.
Our heartfelt gratitude to FASA and Soka Ikeda college for women fir giving us this opportunity.

In India we do not take Career Guidance seriously...

Whenever we do career awareness sessions some of the students ask basic questions like "what is the duration of a BA degree"? "should I write NEET exam for Para Medical courses"?
Students share that these programs are very useful and informative.
Why don't schools allocate time for Career Guidance' Programs??

Career Guidance program in Sunshine Chennai School for class X students
Our career guidance program takes a holistic approach. We start with an awareness program, then Transcend's Career Suitability Toolkit is administered which is followed by a counseling session with the student and the parent.
