Santhigiri Ayurveda & Siddha Hospital Celebrates 9th National Siddha Day with Roadshow and Public Awareness Programme

Chennai, January 6, 2026:
Santhigiri Ayurveda & Siddha Hospital, Annanagar, successfully organized a special public awareness programme in connection with the 9th National Siddha Day on January 6, 2026, under the theme “Siddha for Global Health.”

As part of the celebrations, a roadshow and awareness rally was conducted in and around Annanagar to spread awareness about the importance of Siddha medicine and traditional healthcare practices. The team of doctors, interns, and staff interacted with the public, highlighting the role of Siddha system in disease prevention and holistic wellness.

A free herbal immunity drink was distributed to the public to promote natural ways of strengthening health. The programme also featured free medical consultations, including basic health check-ups, Nadi consultation, and guidance on lifestyle management through Siddha medicine.

Speaking on the occasion, the organizers emphasized that Siddha medicine is a time-tested system focusing on preventive care and natural healing, and such outreach programmes aim to bring traditional healthcare closer to the community.

Knee joint pain is a very common problem seen in all age groups today, especially after the age of forty. In Ayurveda, this condition is described as Sandhivata, which occurs due to the aggravation of Vata dosha. Increased Vata leads to dryness, degeneration, and reduced lubrication of the knee joint.

Patients commonly experience pain while walking or climbing stairs, stiffness after rest, swelling, and cracking sounds in the knees. If ignored, this condition can gradually worsen and affect daily activities.

Ayurveda offers a scientific and holistic approach to managing knee joint pain. Treatment focuses on correcting the Vata imbalance and nourishing the joint tissues. This includes medicated oil therapies like Abhyanga, steam therapy to improve flexibility, internal herbal medications to strengthen bones and joints, and Panchakarma treatments such as Janu Basti in chronic cases.
