Jaundice is a medical symptom, not a disease. It occurs when there is a buildup of bilirubin, a yellow pigment produced during the normal breakdown of red blood cells.

Bilirubin is normally processed by the liver and excreted in bile. When this process is impaired, bilirubin accumulates in the blood leading to a condition called hyperbilirubinemia which causes the yellowing of the skin and eyes.

One should be aware of the symptoms, causes and treatment of jaundice. It differs considerably between adults and newborns and thus there is a need to know about the dissimilarities in order to diagnose and treat this illness as soon as possible.

Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease, commonly known as MASLD, is a chronic liver condition caused by excess fat accumulation in liver cells in people with metabolic risk factors.

These risk factors include obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol levels, and insulin resistance.

MASLD is the updated medical term that replaces Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). The change reflects a clearer understanding of the disease cause. It highlights metabolic dysfunction as the primary driver, rather than focusing on alcohol exclusion.

Needles serve only one purpose, and they are not reusable. The practice of reusing them allows disease threats like hepatitis to quietly infect the liver years before symptoms show up.

A simple shortcut could turn into a lifelong liver disease. So, never reuse or gamble with an organ you can't replace.
