A peg-shaped lateral incisor is an underdeveloped maxillary (upper jaw) lateral incisor—the tooth next to the two front teeth—that appears abnormally small, cylindrical, and cone-shaped. Also known as a peg lateral, it is a form of microdontia, a hereditary disorder causing teeth to be smaller than average. This condition can affect self-confidence and can be treated with various methods, including dental veneers, crowns, or composite bonding, to restore the tooth's normal shape and size.
