Can schools support children's mental health after natural disasters? This meta-analysis provides some answers 🌍

What they found:
📊 School interventions reduced PTSD symptoms immediately (large effect), with effects persisting at follow-up
📊 Depression reduced immediately and short-term, but not long-term
📊 Anxiety reduced immediately (large effect)
📊 Shorter, more frequent sessions over longer periods worked best
📊 Could be delivered by teachers, psychologists or other trained professionals

Important limitations: High heterogeneity between studies limits reliability. Studies with high risk of bias showed large effects, while those with fewer concerns showed smaller, non-significant effects.

The review didn't examine whether interventions were universal or targeted, or timing after disaster - both crucial for clinical guidelines. More high-quality evidence needed before changing practice.

Having money in your pocket is nice, but having the Lord in your heart is a million times better. Money can make life easier, open doors, and provide comfort—but it can never replace peace. It can’t calm a restless soul, heal a broken heart, or give meaning to life when everything else feels empty. Money has limits. God does not.

Having the Lord in your heart changes the way you live, the way you love, and the way you face uncertainty. It gives you confidence without pride, contentment without complacency, and security that doesn’t depend on circumstances. When God lives in your heart, you carry hope with you wherever you go. You’re not shaken by every setback or consumed by every worry, because your foundation is deeper than finances.

Money can be lost. It can fluctuate. It can disappear overnight. But the presence of God remains constant. When times are good, He keeps you grounded. When times are hard, He keeps you standing. When you have plenty, He reminds you to be grateful. When you have little, He reminds you that you are still rich in what matters most.

The Lord in your heart brings peace that money can’t buy. It brings wisdom for decisions, strength for challenges, and comfort in moments when no amount of wealth could help. It teaches you to trust, to give, and to live with purpose instead of fear.

True wealth isn’t measured by what’s in your bank account—it’s measured by what’s in your spirit. And a heart filled with God is never empty, never alone, and never without hope.

So yes, having money in your pocket is nice—but having the Lord in your heart is a million times better.

The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing. Those words remind my soul to rest. Not because life is always easy, but because I am never without care, guidance, or provision. A shepherd watches closely, leads intentionally, and protects faithfully—and that is exactly who God has been to me.

When I don’t know which way to go, the Lord leads me. When I feel weary, He gives me rest. When I’m afraid, He stays near. I may not always have everything I want, but I always have everything I need. God knows the difference, and His provision is always right on time.

I lack nothing because the Lord supplies peace when anxiety tries to take over. He gives strength when I feel weak, clarity when I feel confused, and hope when I feel discouraged. Even in seasons of waiting, I am not lacking—I am being cared for, shaped, and prepared.

The Lord is my shepherd when the path feels uncertain. He goes before me and makes a way. He walks beside me so I am never alone. He watches behind me so I am never unprotected. Even when the road leads through valleys, His presence assures me that I am safe, seen, and held.

I lack nothing because my security doesn’t come from circumstances—it comes from God. My confidence isn’t rooted in what I have, but in who He is. He has never failed to provide, never forgotten my needs, and never left me to figure life out on my own.

So I choose to trust Him. I choose to rest instead of worry. I choose faith instead of fear. Because when the Lord is my shepherd, I am not abandoned, not empty, and not lacking.

The Lord is my shepherd.
I truly lack nothing.
