Empowering the Next Generation: Well-Being Session at Ela Green School

I had the incredible opportunity to conduct a session on "Building Healthy & Happy Life - Start Early!" at Ela Green School, and it was nothing short of inspiring! The students were enthusiastic, engaged, and ready to learn about the importance of physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Their curiosity and energy made it an interactive and meaningful experience for everyone involved.

Being felicitated by the head of the school was an honour, but what truly stood out was how eager these young minds were to take charge of their health and happiness. This experience highlighted how crucial it is to start these conversations early, helping children develop habits leading to a fulfilling life.

I encourage schools, colleges, and institutions to take the initiative in prioritizing well-being education for their students. By teaching them how to care for their bodies, manage their emotions, and develop strong minds, we can nurture a healthier, happier generation. It's never too early to start, and the benefits will last a lifetime!

I’m excited to share that I’ll be running in the Chennai Marathon, not just for the love of running but for a cause that’s close to my heart - fighting "Type 1 Diabetes in Children".
Children deserve a future free of disease, and with your support, we can make that vision a reality. Unfortunately, Type 1 Diabetes has no cure, but it can be manageable through insulin, diet & exercise to live a healthy & fulfilling life. Even a small contribution is valuable to many.

Whoooo We Made it.....
Celebrating 100 Days of Running: A Journey of Dedication and Support.

Today marks a milestone for me and my daughter: 100 consecutive days of running! This journey has been filled with challenges, but we faced each one with determination and a cheerful spirit. Through rain or shine, tired mornings and busy days, we kept pushing forward.

We couldn't have done it without the incredible support of our family and friends. A special thank you to my dear husband, whose unwavering encouragement and love have been our backbone throughout this journey.

As we celebrate this achievement, we are motivated to keep this streak alive and continue to embrace the joy of running. Here's to many more days of health, happiness, and perseverance!

🕖Master Your Clock: How Understanding hashtag Can Prevent Nighttime Pitfalls and Boost Your Health🙂

In today's fast-paced world, it's common to see people hitting the gym after work, burning the midnight oil on assignments, or catching up on their favourite books/ movies long after the sun has set. While evening yoga or workouts might fit better into your busy schedule, they can have unintended consequences and wreak havoc on your circadian rhythm.

Understanding the Circadian Rhythm:-
The circadian rhythm is a natural, internal process that responds to light and darkness in the environment, regulates the sleep-wake cycle and repeats roughly every 24 hours. It's often referred to as the body's "biological clock." This rhythm helps determine sleep patterns, feeding behaviours, hormone release, and other bodily functions.

The Hidden Dangers of Evening Activities:-
🌡️Delayed Sleep Onset:- Physical activity in the evening can raise your adrenaline and body temperature, making it harder to fall asleep.
⚖️Disrupted Hormones:- Evening workouts can interfere with melatonin production, delaying your body's readiness for sleep.
🚀Increased Stress:- Working out or engaging in stimulating activities late at night can elevate cortisol levels, which is counterproductive to the natural decrease needed for sleep.
😫 Overworking After Sunset:- Can heighten stress and cortisol levels, leading to sleep deprivation.

One reason I recommend my clients switch to morning workouts is that aligning their exercise routine with their circadian rhythm can have a significant positive impact on their sleep, health, and overall well-being.

Why morning workouts are Superior:-
🏋‍♂️ Morning workouts align well with your circadian rhythm, offering several benefits,
💪 Boosted Alertness and Mood:- Exercise in the morning increases endorphins and adrenaline, setting a positive tone for the day.
💪Enhanced Metabolism:- Morning exercise jumpstarts your metabolism, helping you burn more calories throughout the day.
😴 Better Sleep:- Early workouts promote the natural production of melatonin in the evening, leading to better sleep quality.

Strategies to Protect Your Circadian Rhythm:-
👉 Adjust Workout Timing:- Aim to complete your workouts at least 3-4 hours before bedtime.
👉Limit Screen Time:- Reduce exposure to screens at least one hour before bed.
👉Create a Relaxing Evening Routine:- Engage in calming activities such as reading a physical book, practising mindfulness, or taking a warm bath to help signal to your body that it's time to wind down.
👉Set Boundaries for Work:- Establish a cutoff time for work-related activities in the evening. Separate work and relaxation time to reduce stress and promote better sleep.

Embrace a balanced approach to evening activities and align with your circadian rhythm for optimal well-being—try it and witness the magic!

Do You believe in experiments? Have you ever experimented with a new routine or developed a habit recently? For the past two months, I've been deeply immersed in this transformative journey, and let me tell you, the experience has pushed my limits beyond my imagination.

I learned through my experiment with Robin Sharma's "The 66-Day Minimum" habit formation strategy. Taking on challenges like "The 66 Day Minimum" can be a powerful way to push your limits and discover your true potential. Whether running, reading, or any other activity, committing to daily practice can bring profound changes.

Here's a breakdown of my experience:
Days (1-22): Destruction 🌪️*Overcoming deeply ingrained habits was no easy feat. I faced physical discomfort, adverse weather, and frequent travel. It was a whirlwind of challenges that tested my resolve at every turn, reinforcing the truth that persistence is the gateway to mastery.

Days (23-44): Installation 🏗️*This messy stage was filled with confusion, stress, frustration, and yes, many moments when I wanted to quit. But I kept moving forward, understanding that true growth lies in embracing the chaos. The old version of yourself must evolve so that a better version can be reborn. At this stage, I have realised that unfathomable rewards are on the horizon.

Days (45-66): Integration 🎉
This is where the magic happens. The experience and benefits started to integrate on psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual levels into my daily routine. The effort and persistence paid off, resulting in lasting positive changes. This is the stage of the greatest self where a better version of me becomes the new normal.

Reaching this "Automaticity Point" means no longer needing willpower or external motivation, as the habits become deeply ingrained in our operating system, forming a natural way of life.

Ta-da! All it takes is 66 days of consistency, grit, and discipline. Voilà, you’ve made it! I have made it.

Completing this challenge was an empowering experience. It not only improved my physical fitness but also strengthened my mindset. I highly recommend "The 66-Day Minimum" to anyone looking to build a lasting habit and test their limits. The journey might be tough, but the sense of accomplishment at the end is worth every effort. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Calling all fitness enthusiasts! You Can Do It.🌟

I have some exciting news to share with all of you today. After years of focusing on yoga, pilates, strength training, meditation, and mindfulness, I have embarked on a new journey - ! 🏃‍♀️

I am thrilled to announce that I have enrolled for by HDOR (The Great Indian Running Festival), 10th Edition. I loved their tagline "Come What May" which will push me out of my comfort zone and allow me to explore my abilities like never before. 💪

Well, I have my amazing husband to thank for this. He is a marathon runner and has been a constant source of motivation and encouragement. His belief in me pushed me to put on my running shoes and take the plunge. 🙌

But here's the thing - I don't want to do this alone, so let's inspire each other to push our limits and become the best versions of ourselves. Whether you're a seasoned runner or completely new to it like me, let's challenge ourselves to make running a part of our daily routine and see how it transforms us physically and mentally. 🌟

Happy to be a part of Ksh*tij Where Dreams Meet Reality
This Poem has a story to it.
When I was going to Ksh*tij Lit Fest in December, my word file ( the poem) crashed which I mailed to myself. I was not able to retrieve the file. Then I wrote this entire poem with a different perspective when I was in the flight, which turned to be much better than the crashed one. (May be everything happens for good). Thanks to the universe for sending those words to me. Hope you like it.
