Prostate cancer

Do all prostate cancer need Operation?

No.Not all prostate cancer are dangerous.Some prostate cancer especially about 75 years of age can just be followed up with blood tests called PSA.

Most prostate cancers are slow growing and treatment plan needs to be individualised.

Surgery or radiotherapy will be needed for younger men say 60 years of age or so.

Can urine become red because of body heat or eating chicken?

NO.Red urine is blood in urine and it should never be ignored.This has nothing to do with body heat or eating chicken.Even well read and educated people believe in chicken and body heat theory.

Blood in urine needs further testing like urine test and Ultrasound kidneys.Most of the time it may be urine infection and can be treated with medicines .Sometimes they can be from serious problems especially in men ,smokers and older people.

What makes us form kidney stones and can the stones be dissolved with medicines?

No one knows ,”THE CAUSE “for kidney stone formation.The likely cause is possibly an unknown genetic factor.In those persons at risk,certain
factors cause stones.They are
1.Drinking less water and frequently eating food with excess salt
2.Increased red meat (pork,mutton ,beef)intake
3.Dehydration during summer months

The stones cannot be dissolved but small stones say less than 4mm can pass out in the urine on their own.Pure uric acid stones which is less than 10% may be dissolved
