Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Physiotherapy, SRIHER, conducted “Smt. Kamalam Ramaswamy Udayar Endowment Oration in Physiotherapy” on 10th October 2025. In honour of Smt. Kamalam Ramasamy Udayar, wife of Founder Chancellor Shri N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar. SRIHER, Prof. Akhoury Gourang Kumar Sinha, Professor of Physiotherapy at Punjabi University, Patiala, delivered the oration on the topic “NCAHP Act 2021: Implications and Challenges to Physiotherapy Education and Practice.” Prof. A.G.K. Sinha provided insights into the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) Act, highlighting its impact on physiotherapy education, regulatory frameworks, and professional standards. Dr Uma Sekar, Vice-Chancellor, SRIHER, presided over the oration.

We are proud to share that Ms. R. Athira, Final Year M.Sc. Physician Associate student from the Department of Allied Health Sciences, SRIHER, secured 2nd place in the E-Poster Competition at the International Conference of Allied Health Sciences held on 21st and 22nd August 2025, organized by Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Paramedical Sciences, Puducherry. Among 350 participants, Ms. Athira and Ms. Roshini, also a Final Year M.Sc. Physician Associate student, represented SRIHER, showcasing academic excellence. In line with the UGC and Dental Council of India guidelines on celebrating Anti-Ragging Week, the Anti-Ragging Committee, Student Committee, and Student Council of Sri Ramachandra Dental College and Hospital organized a series of awareness programs themed “Say No to Ragging” from 12th to 18th August 2025. The observance featured an Anti-Ragging Documentary screening, a seminar by Dr. Leena Chand Associate Professor of Biochemistry & Resident Warden for Ladies Hostel, The week-long observance concluded with a Valedictory Function on 19th August. The dignitaries present on the dais included Dr. Priyadarshee Pradhan Head of the Department, Forensic Medicine, Dr. H. Thamizhchelvan Dean, Sri Ramachandra Dental College, Dr. S.K. Balaji (Vice Principal & Head, Department of Periodontology, Dr. J. Naveen Kumar (Head, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Dr. P.S. Haritha Assistant Dean – Students. The Chief Guest, Dr. Priyadarshee Pradhan, was felicitated with a memento by the Dean, Dr. H. Thamizhchelvan, who also delivered the presidential address. Dr. Priyadarshee Pradhan then addressed the gathering on the anti-ragging guidelines prescribed by the University. As part of the program, various student competitions such as Logo Designing, Poster Making, Slogan Writing, and Short Film Making were conducted. The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, successfully conducted the RARE (Ramachandra Advanced Radiology Education) PG refresher course 21st to 24th August 2025. The event witnessed the participation of over 150 delegates from across India and featured distinguished faculty from premier institutions nationwide. With a strong academic focus, the conference greatly benefited postgraduate students preparing for examinations through case-based discussions, practical pearls, and insights into advanced imaging. A major highlight was the release of the “Companion for Radiology Residents” Comprehensive book, a collective contribution by the department faculty, which was formally released by Dr. T. S. Swaminathan, former Director Barnard Institute of Radiology. Adding to the academic vibrancy, DR.Roy Santhosham Innovation Award was presented to PG delegate for the best innovation in imaging, marking a proud moment for young researchers.The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and mentorship, marking an academically enriching and memorable milestone for the department.
