Ms. Sujitha P., M.Sc., Physician Associate, final-year student (2024–2025 batch) from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, has secured the Third Best Oral Paper Award (Silver Medal) at the 21st Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Physician Assistants (IAPACON 2025). She was recognised for her paper titled “Correlation of Aspartate Aminotransferase to Platelet Ratio Index with Child-Pugh and MELD-Na Scores among Patients with Decompensated Liver Disease”, presented on 11 October 2025 at Hotel Savera, Chennai. In observance of World Leprosy Day 2026, the Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Occupational Therapy, SRIHER, successfully conducted a Continuing Occupational Therapy Education (COTE) seminar titled “Hansen’s Hand – Surgery & Rehabilitation” on 30 January 2026 at the Dental Basement Auditorium. The session featured a comprehensive technical discourse by Dr. Subashini R, Associate Professor, Department of Hand Surgery, Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute, highlighting the critical integration of surgical intervention and rehabilitative care in managing Hansen’s Disease. The programme witnessed active participation from 204 attendees, including undergraduate students, BOT interns, and postgraduate students of SRFOT, fostering focused learning on addressing complex functional challenges.

Rathna Oration Award on 30 January 2026 at the 57th National Convention of the Indian Speech and Hearing Association, held at Ahmedabad. The Dr. N. Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Public Health, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Healthcare and the Industrial Waste Management Association, successfully organized a one-day seminar on “Climate Change and Human Health: A Primer for Educators” on 22 January 2026. The programme aimed to strengthen educators’ understanding of the interlinkages between climate change and human health, addressing key themes including climate drivers and health impacts, air quality and heat stress, food security and nutrition, climate-sensitive infectious diseases, extreme weather events, health systems preparedness, and relevant national and state policy frameworks. Expert sessions were delivered by Dr. Sagnik Dey (IIT Delhi), Dr. Aarthy R (M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation), Dr. V. Ramasubramanian (Infectious Disease Specialist), and Mr. M. Vignesh Kumar (Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Tamil Nadu). The programme also featured an interactive discussion and a Basic Life Support demonstration, and witnessed participation from 245 school teachers (public and private) and 60+ students from the Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Public Health.

We are proud to share that Ms. S. Sandhya Bharathi, PhD (Full-Time) Research Scholar, Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Public Health, currently pursuing her doctoral research under the guidance of Dr. G. Pitchaimani, Associate Professor, Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, has been conferred the Young Scientist Award 2025 with Cash Reward. The award was presented at the 76th National Conference of the Indian Association of Occupational Health (IAOH) – OCCUCON 2026, held at Jamnagar, Gujarat (7–10 January 2026), in recognition of the best scientific paper presented during the 75th National Conference of IAOH, Chennai, January 2025. The Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Physiotherapy successfully organized a two-day workshop on 23 & 24 January 2025, aimed at enhancing competency in cardiopulmonary instrumentation through intensive hands-on training in breath and heart metric assessment, exercise testing, functional capacity evaluation, and ICU monitoring. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Dhanasekar, Professor, Department of Respiratory Medicine, SRIHER. The academic programme featured a blend of didactic lectures and extensive practical sessions focusing on ICU monitoring, exercise testing and prescription for cardiopulmonary dysfunction, body composition analysis, metabolic assessment tools, and functional capacity evaluations. Dr. P. G. Magesh Kumar, HOD, Department of Geriatrics Physiotherapy, Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy, served as the Guest Speaker. Internal expert sessions were delivered by Dr. T. Senthil Kumar, Head, Department of Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapy; Mrs. Sridevi S, Associate Professor; Mrs. R. Yogeshwari, Assistant Professor; and Mr. Ajith Kumar P, Ms. Swetha, and Ms. Sweathanathan, Lecturers in Physiotherapy. Participants gained hands-on proficiency in functional and exercise capacity assessments, diabetic evaluation, and evidence-based exercise prescription.
