The Dementia Resource and Training Centre, called DEMCARES (Dementia Care in SCARF) is associated with the Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARF), a non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Chennai. SCARF is one of the very few NGOs in the world to be named as a Collaborating Centre of the World Health Organisation (WHO) for Mental Health Research and Training. AT DEMCARES, WE OFFER -

DEMCARES team had an amazing evening by taking our elders to the nearby park for some much-needed recreation. Just as we once visited parks as children, the joy of being surrounded by nature brought a sense of nostalgia and peace to our elders.
For those living with dementia, such moments can be especially powerful, helping to rekindle memories, reduce stress, and improve cognitive function.

Watching them embrace the simplicity of a park visit, laughing, reminiscing, and enjoying the fresh air, reminded us all of the importance of connecting with nature and cherishing these moments of relaxation.

It’s a beautiful way to offer them the chance to relive joyful memories, just as we once did as kids..🍃✨
