I sincerely thank the All India Ophthalmological Society Scientific Committee, for inviting me to speak in the Myopia Management Course – Module 6 on the topic “Results of Orthokeratology.” It was truly an honour to share insights on evidence-based outcomes of Orthokeratology and its growing role in contemporary myopia control.
My heartfelt thanks to my fellow speakers Mr. Yeshwant Saoji and Dr. Gosh for sharing the online dais and enriching the academic discussion. I am also grateful to Dr. Aravind Morya, Dr. Chandrashekhar Chawan and Dr. Shruti Dheep Nishanth for their valuable expertise and perspectives shared during the session. Beyond blurred distance vision, progressive myopia increases the lifetime risk of retinal detachment, myopic maculopathy, and glaucoma. Early identification and timely intervention are therefore crucial. (Ortho-K), a non-surgical, overnight corneal reshaping therapy, has shown significant evidence in slowing axial elongation and controlling myopia progression in children—making it a powerful tool in modern myopia management strategies.
