Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society The State AIDS Project Cell was formed in January 1993 in Tamil Nadu.

TAMIL NADU STATE AIDS CONTROL SOCIETY (TANSACS) was the first registered Society in India for HIV/AIDS control and prevention registered in 1994 as a mandate of DAC. Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society was registered on 11.05.1994 under the
Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975. Vision: Implementation of various programmes effectively with the aim of “Getting to Zero –
No new infection, No

HIV/AIDS related death, No HIV/AIDS related Stigma and
Discrimination”. Mission: The State of Tamil Nadu is one of the leading States in prevention and control of
HIV/AIDS epidemic in the Country working for National AIDS Control Organisation, New
Delhi.
