On 25th December, the Dhuni Festival was celebrated in the city of Durgapur with great reverence.
In front of the sacred flame lit before the statue of Swami Vivekananda, participants offered oblations and took a solemn vow to serve society and the nation.
The event was graced by the presence of the honorable chief guest, Hanumant Rao Ji (VKK All India Vice president)

🕉️ 25th December – A Historic Day of India 🇮🇳
25th December holds a deep spiritual and national significance in India because on this sacred day, Swami Vivekananda sat in intense meditation at Kanyakumari, at the southernmost tip of Bharat.
In December 1892, Swamiji swam across the ocean and reached a rocky island near Kanyakumari (today known as Vivekananda Rock Memorial). There, on 25th to 27th December, he entered deep meditation.

During this profound meditation, Swami Vivekananda:
Contemplated the past, present, and future of India
Reflected on the suffering of the masses
Visualized a strong, spiritually awakened India
Resolved to dedicate his life to nation-building through service and education
It was here that Swamiji realized his mission:
- To awaken the youth
- To uplift the poor
- To spread Vedantic wisdom to the world
This meditation became a turning point in his life. Soon after, he traveled to the West and delivered the historic Chicago address in 1893, bringing global recognition to India’s spiritual heritage.🙏
