Deva Foundation – mission for mankind is a registered social charitable trust. Our focus is on mental wellbeing, women empowerment, education, research, empowering individuals and supporting victims of natural calamities. ANVITA – psychological wellbeing and psychosocial rehabilitation center exclusively for women, symbolizes our mission statement.

ANVITA is about ‘respect, recovery & reintegration’ of women and young girls suffering from mental illness and or mentally re****ed (Intellectual disability).

The campus is located conveniently on NH7, a lush 8 acre landscaped eleven building campus painted in earth hues, by the side of the mighty Ganga resounding with the twitter of birds and chugging of trains.

More than 50 % of the destitute, homeless and wandering girls or women housed in custodial centers in Uttar Pradesh suffer a combination of mental retardation with severe mental illness. Some among these are brought to ANVITA following due process of law. They are provided nutritious campus grown food, access to bathing, clean clothes, footwear.

Group activities including yoga, gardening, sewing, pottery, cooking is introduced in a graded manner. Through painstaking effort and gentle enquiry, we have repatriated four girls to their own homes. Another unique initiative is half way homes to house sixteen inmates in our staff quarter. These half way homes (and employment in factories, school, hospitals and other business houses close by) would serve as a springboard to complete empowerment.

Our present capacity is 100; today we are serving 80 inmates. The treatment team comprises psychiatrist, medical officer, psychologist, social worker, housemother, attendants and myriad support staff. Typically we incur costs of about Rs. 14000-16000 per person per month. 60 percent of the costs are covered by government grants. The remaining is raised through public support for this noble endeavor. A regular monthly contribution or one time grant and gifts in kind for our inmates for rehabilitation is solicited.

For a project like ANVITA, we need regular financial support. Even small support makes large difference. You can support any amount between 50.00 (fifty) to 5000.00 (five thousand) Rupees a month on a regular basis. This will make huge difference to lives of homeless women and girls suffering with moderate to severe mental illness. We request yourself to share this with all your staff and if needed please feel free to call us.
