31/07/2025

Good morning, my dear friends.

Today is the last day of July 2025, it offers us a quiet invitation—to let go. Let go of sadness, pain, fear, guilt, regrets. Let go of anger, vanity, violence, disappointment, and hate. These burdens, though familiar, occupy the space where healing, peace, and joy long to dwell. We cannot hold onto both the weight of yesterday and the promise of tomorrow.

So today, let’s choose release.Let’s practice the grace of letting go—not in weakness, but in wisdom. In surrender, in letting go - we find strength. In release, we find renewal.

Let us make room today in our hearts for peace, happiness, joy and fulfillment to occupy our hearts.

Let it go.

*“When God loves a people, He afflicts them.If they endure with fortitude, He chooses them.”– Rumi*

At the outset, this may seem paradoxical—why would divine love come through pain? But Rumi, in his deep mystical wisdom, reveals a truth that transcends comfort: suffering is not always a sign of abandonment; it can be a mark of divine attention.

When God loves a person—or a people—He does not always shield them from hardship. Instead, He allows trials to come, not to break them, but to awaken and refine them. Affliction, in this sense, becomes the fire that purifies, the storm that uproots illusions, and the pressure that transforms coal into diamond.

But not all who suffer are chosen. The second part of the saying is key:

“If they endure with fortitude, He chooses them.”

It is in how we respond to suffering—with dignity, patience, and inner strength—that our spiritual worth is revealed. Endurance with faith turns affliction into elevation. When we walk through the fire without losing our compassion, without letting bitterness harden our hearts, we become vessels of a deeper purpose.

So we, our people are enduring hardship, let us therefore do not mistake it for divine neglect. We are being shaped for something greater. And through this affliction, we are being prepared, tested—and chosen.

*Forge Ahead: Rising Above Doubts and Distractions*

Dr. Chinkholal Thangsing

_“Those who keep looking back can never walk forward. Fix your eyes on the goal, for turning back turns dreams into pillars of salt.”_

How do we take meaningful steps forward without being distracted or indulge and waste precious energy, time and resources in throwing stones at every barking dog along the way? Shouldn’t the caravan moves on and let the dogs bark on? How do we advance without turning back towards our own old S***m and Gomorrah, risking becoming pillars of salt?

We must introspectively ask ourselves – can we afford to keep turning back, questioning and doubting, until we turn into pillars upon pillars of salt, frozen and useless? Or shall we proceed ahead, resolute, without looking back?

The truth is, we have to keep moving forward. We must maintain our momentum, despite the thousands of doubting Thomases around us who keep harping on their fears and insecurities. Their doubts will always exist, but they cannot be allowed to stall our journey.

No matter what we say today, or how many organisations we form, the government hears the people’s voice – the voices that come through the recognised spokespersons of our people. When the government wishes to communicate, it beckons to them, for they are our mouthpieces.

Therefore, as one body, we must work in tandem, in perfect unison. Let the mouth speak with wisdom, the brain strategise, the eyes remain watchful, and the hands and feet act swiftly wherever needed.

Who among us, or which groups, truly have the power to sway and hold a private audience with the Prime Minister or the Home Minister? And if you do possess that capacity, who has stopped you from speaking up for our people – to be the voice that ensures our demands are safeguarded under the Constitution in the form of Union Territory status, and to speak directly into the ears of those who hold power in the corridors of our nation?

We must not become distracted, listless, or restless. Let us keep the demands and processes moving without unnecessary stalling. Instead of indulging in mud slinging, loud gossips and criticism, let each of us ask ourselves – What can I do today to support those at the helm, working tirelessly for the good of our people?

This is a time to be positive. A time to shed all signs of negativity and doubts and indecision. Today is a crucial time to forge ahead rising above doubts and distractions. A time to strengthen our faith in God Almighty, a time to encourage, motivate, thank, and bless those leading the way. If we persevere, never stepping back but inching forward step by step, and keep our eyes fixed on the goal with confidence and unwavering determination, we shall surely achieve what we seek. We must persevere placing our faith securely in the power of God and performing our duty, role and task.

After all, don’t you agree – we have a God who can move mountains. A God who parted the seas, who brought down walls with a shout, and who raised up nations from humble beginnings. If we truly believe this, then let us act with the courage and faith that reflect that belief. Let us press on without fear, without turning back, without allowing doubts, divisions, or distractions to weaken our resolve. For if God is with us, who can stand against us? Let us move forward boldly, united in purpose, with our eyes fixed on the goal, knowing that no mountain is too high, no obstacle too great, and no dream too far when we walk in faith and stand together as one people.

*Hold Back the Tide: Time to Stop Our Human Resource Drain [18 July 2025]*

Dr. Chinkholal Thangsing

_“A nation that fails to keep its youth rooted in purpose and dignity is a nation surrendering its future.”_

Over the past three to four decades, we have witnessed a painful and unsettling reality: the steady, relentless drain of our human resources. Our youth – our people are leaving our land in large numbers, driven away by the lack of meaningful opportunities, scarce resources, the absence of innovation, weak entrepreneurial ecosystems, and an overall indifference of the system towards their future.

Today, as we are all aware of, many of our young people are scattered across different states of India, often working in menial jobs under exploitative and demeaning conditions. Some work in clubs, where they face the constant risk of harassment and molestation. Others serve in hotels, massage parlors, or call centers – far away from their homes, families, and communities, their dreams quietly eroding with each passing day. In recent times, individuals and placement agencies have approached me, seeking to send our youth abroad to work as caregivers for the extremely elderly, infirm, bedridden, or those in hospices – not only in the metropolises of India but also in countries like Japan and Singapore. But we must ask ourselves honestly: is this truly an advancement for our people? Or is it merely a desperate measure to alleviate extreme poverty at home by sending away our most able-bodied, energetic, and potentially innovative youth to care for the sick and aged of other lands?

What future does this path hold for us as a community? Are we building towards dignity, growth, and self-reliance, or are we simply outsourcing our poverty by exporting our youth as cheap labor?

We must pause and reflect deeply: What are we truly doing as a community to reverse this painful drain of our greatest resource – our people, our youth, our hope?

It is time for the rich, the educated, and the entrepreneurs of our land to come together and address this issue head-on. We cannot continue to watch our people being drained from our soil for meagre salaries, while risking exploitation, indignity, and even danger far from home. It is far more valuable and dignified to earn ₹5,000 in our own town or city, surrounded by family and community, than to earn ₹20,000 in Delhi or any other metropolis where they live as strangers without support, respect, or belonging. They would rent a small room and call it an apartment which are unfurnished and they will have or organize furniture that cost, they have to arrange for kitchen and cooking units, gas cylinders and need to get daily groceries, cook and run a mini home unit that takes away at least two thirds of their earnings. There are of course exceptions – high-end jobs, specialized careers, jobs in government, corporate houses and opportunities that provide genuine growth, advancement, and life-changing exposure. Those pathways should be encouraged and supported. But the mass migration of our youth into low-wage, high-risk jobs with no prospects for the future must stop.

As we move towards self-governance and the shaping of our own destiny, we will need trained, skilled, and motivated human resources to build, manage, and sustain our systems and institutions. Who will do it if our youth are all away, serving elsewhere with no connection, commitment, or investment left for their homeland?

The time has come to put our minds, hearts, and souls together to step up as a community. We must involve our youth meaningfully and empower them purposefully. We need to create viable opportunities within our land, encourage entrepreneurship, build industries and services that employ our own people, and invest in innovations that bring dignity, purpose, and progress to our society.

If we fail to act now, we will wake up one day to find our homeland empty of resourceful people, its own children, governed by others, and sustained by strangers. The future of our people and our land depends on the choices we make today. May we have the courage to choose wisely, and the determination to build a land where our youth no longer leave merely to survive, but stay to thrive.

Let us rise together, create opportunities at home, and build a future where our youth stay to thrive. The time to act is now.
