Even if fasting and pre-meal sugars are normal, frequent snacking or high-carb meals can cause sugar spikes after eating. These spikes may go unnoticed but still increase HbA1c over time.

Regular exercise helps keep blood sugar under control. If exercise is stopped or reduced for a few weeks, average sugar levels can slowly rise and reflect as a higher HbA1c.

Constipation is not caused or cured by one single food 🍽️
While many people believe that eating a banana at night helps bowel movement, the relief is often psychological rather than physiological.
What truly improves constipation is a combination of fibre-rich foods, adequate water intake 💧, regular physical activity 🚶‍♂️, and a consistent toilet routine.
Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, pulses, seeds, and probiotics all play an important role.
Instead of depending on one food or timing, focus on overall gut habits for long-term relief.

Here are 5 commonly consumed foods that provide ~5 g of dietary fibre per serving (approximate values):
1.Oats (½ cup dry / ~40 g) ~5 g fibre ,
Rich in soluble fibre (β-glucan)

2. Chickpeas / Chana (½ cup cooked)~5–6 g fibre
Good mix of soluble and insoluble fibre

3. Apple with peel (1 medium)~4.5–5 g fibre

🍽️ SIMPLE CHANGES TO YOUR SOUTH INDIAN LUNCH THAT CAN IMPROVE DIABETES CONTROL 🔥

Most people think controlling diabetes means giving up South Indian food or eating bland, boring meals.
❌ That’s not true.

👉 You don’t need expensive “diabetic foods”
👉 You don’t need extreme dieting
👉 You don’t need to stop eating your traditional lunch

What you need are smart, practical food swaps that increase protein and fibre, reduce sugar spikes, and keep you full for longer.

In this video, I explain 5 simple changes you can make to your daily South Indian lunch that can:

✅ Increase protein intake
✅ Reduce hunger and cravings
✅ Support weight control
✅ Improve long-term HbA1c

These changes are easy, affordable, culturally familiar, and suitable for diabetes, prediabetes, insulin resistance, and metabolic health.

🧠 WHY PROTEIN IS IMPORTANT IN DIABETES

A typical South Indian lunch is often:
🍚 High in rice
🥔 High in carbohydrates
❌ Low in protein

This leads to:
📈 Sudden sugar spikes
😴 Post-meal sleepiness
🍽️ Hunger within 2–3 hours

👉 Protein slows digestion, reduces glucose spikes, and improves insulin response.
Even a small increase in protein at lunch can make a big difference to sugar control.

1️⃣ CHANGE FROM RICE TO QUINOA OR PROSO MILLET 🌾

In this video, we discuss the top 5 common hand problems seen in diabetes, why they occur, and the importance of early recognition and good blood sugar control.

# # # 1️⃣ Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)
Frozen shoulder is common in people with long-standing diabetes. High blood sugar leads to inflammation and thickening of the shoulder capsule, causing pain, stiffness, and restricted movement. Early physiotherapy and good sugar control can improve recovery.

# # # 2️⃣ Dupuytren’s Contracture
Dupuytren’s contracture causes thickening of the tissue in the palm, leading to bending of fingers over time. It is more frequently seen in diabetics due to connective tissue changes related to chronic hyperglycemia.

# # # 3️⃣ Trigger Finger
Trigger finger occurs when a finger gets stuck while bending or straightening, often with a painful snap. In diabetes, tendon sheath thickening and inflammation make this condition more common and sometimes more severe.
