Diastasis recti is fairly common. Studies have shown that it can occur in approximately 30-60% of women after giving birth.

Not only does it cause cosmetic issues. It can also cause:
weakness in the core,lower back pain, and,changes to your posture.

Abdominal separation usually goes away after the birth of the baby. That said, up to 1 in 3 women still report problems with abdominal separation 12 months after the birth.

Diastasis recti” means your belly sticks out because the space between your left and right belly muscles has widened. You might call it a “pooch.”

It appears like a bulge or ridge in the middle of the stomach.

The condition is painful and can cause poor posture, incontinence, and a lower quality of life. It may also alter the appearance of your abdomen. However, diastasis recti is usually easily treatable either at home or with the guidance of a physical therapist.

*Seek to a physiotherapist who can help you with this. Biomechanics of body , physiology, anatomy and exercise therapy is analysed and studied by a physiotherapist.
