Anurag Hospital is Centre for treatment of surgical disorders with ambulatory surgical care and also for Obesity and Diabetes Surgery and Support. It was started by Dr John AC Thanakumar, an expert and pioneering advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon who has been awarded by the former President of India Dr K R Narayanan during his tenure. Dr John AC Thanakumar is the President of Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons of India (IAGES) , body that comprises of nearly 4000 laparoscopic surgeons all over India.His earlier basic surgical training and later masters were in Christian Medical College, Vellore. Since then he has been trained in Germany, France, USA. He has contributed to laparoscopic surgery and obesity surgery by way of scientific articles, books and as operating faculty in India and abroad.
