On "Hopenning 2.0" this week, Fran speaks with . Manjoo Shree, who, as an educated, professional psychologist came to her own mental health event in a hospital ICU when she doubted her own self-worth and questioned if her life was worth living.
This led to becoming one of India’s most renowned psychologists and author of India’s first self-help book for children titled “Life Parachute”.
On this episode of Hopenning, Dr. Manjoo tells about how in her territory in India, one in five women end their lives every day, which led her to realize that youth needed to be taught to reprogram themselves and become their own best cheerleaders, and acquire the resilience needed to inspire, motivate and help themselves. Today through her program “Lifeolicious” and through the creation of The Natchimuthu Foundation, her goal is to help 100,000 students to fulfill their dreams, and create a life worth living.

Lokah - You’ve done something most Malayalam - nope ! Indian films haven’t dared: you turned our folklore-dusted ghost stories into a full-blown superhero origin saga, with a heroine who’s not just punching evil, but carrying the weight of myth, culture and cape in one hand.

What works (and slays):
• Chandra / Neeli is a revelation. She’s not just your typical caped crusader; she’s messy, fierce, rooted, vulnerable. The kind of female superhero who doesn’t just look powerful — she is power, wrapped in folklore, rage, elegy, and neon.
• The world-building is lush, ambitious, and sometimes so eye-candy I wanted sunglasses. The mix of Kerala yakshi/vampire lore + dark fantasy + superhero tropes gives Lokah its own flavour. Not quite imitation of Marvel, not pretentiously arthouse — something in between.
• The technical polish: cinematography, the soundtrack by , production design — these aren’t just checkboxes, they elevate. The scores and visuals tug you in and sometimes carry you when the plot takes its time.

What doesn’t always land :
Some tropes sneak in (evil organs traffickers, the corrupt cop, etc.) which feel a little generic. When you’re playing in myth & legend, originality becomes the standard — and there Lokah only partly meets it. But damn, when it hits, it hits.

Verdict:

Lokah is not perfect. But it dares. It’s bold, ambitious, emotionally loud in places, visually intoxicating, and culturally tuned. It’s a superhero film that smells like midnight tales your grandmother told — only with superpowers, gore, and CGI.

If you like your superheroes with blood in their roots, a heroine who bleeds as much as she fights, and a universe that promises more after the credits — Lokah is your kind of chaos. If you want something leaner, cleaner, less myth-infused, this might stretch you. But hey, stretch is good.

Lokah 1 is enough to make you buzz, and leave you impatient for Lokah Chapter 2 or whatever comes next.

From Coimbatore ➝ Tharamanglam ➝ Salem ➝ Oxford

“ Icon of the year 2025 “ impacting mental wellness across the globe.

All my life, I dreamt of studying at Oxford or Harvard. That dream never happened.
Life had other plans — marriage, motherhood, life happenings ;)

But one thing I never let go of was learning & unlearning.

Be it in the form of 32 Mindvalley certifications, NAS Summits, teaching Lifeolicious Hacks, writing book Life Parachute, singing Yettadha Dhooram — I kept showing up.

Not perfectly. Not without pain. But kept walking my truth.

31st August 2025, as I stood at the University of Oxford, tears filled my eyes.
Because every detour, every delay, every breakdown… had quietly been shaping me.

I could have taken the easy road - the one following society standards,
Instead, I chose the honest one — harder, lonelier, often misunderstood.
And that made all the difference.

Every trauma was indeed a protection.

So for me, this isn’t an award .
It’s proof — that broken paths can still lead to light if you walk them with heart.

With gratitude to the universe, Daddy, my family, and Global Empire Events — for believing in me when I am still learning to believe in myself. ❤️

👉 And now I’d love to hear from you: what’s the detour in your life that turned out to be your breakthrough?

🔥 Happy Birthday to the unstoppable – Karen Salmansohn 🔥

She’s not just a bestselling author — she’s sold 2 million+ books & courses. She’s not just a behavioral change expert — she’s THE WOMAN who made psychology fun, bold & unforgettable. (and when the queen herself DM’s calling you the queen 👑 and roots for your success… you just know the universe is plotting a meet-up 💥✨).

Personally, For me, she’s the reason psychology feels like art + science + soul. Years ago, before the government awards, I wrote Life Parachute, the TEDx stage, Femina award, and the Doctorates in Psychology & Education — I saw psychology as serious and stiff. Her books? I read them like scripture — my daily dose of life immunity. 🙌✨

Karen made psychology - playful, powerful, and deeply human. And because of that spark, I built , helped thousands rewire resilience, and yes… even earned my own global recognitions. ✨

Karen, you’re proof that wisdom can wear skirts , crack jokes, and still hit you in the gut with truth. On your birthday, I celebrate not just YOU, but the Doctorate in Life you’ve helped all of us earn. 🎓💃

Keep shining through this 65th! keep shaking up the world as the rest of us are trying to keep up. 😉🔥

14 years later 👣❤️

Yesterday I lay in bed with a sprain, doing absolutely nothing… and enjoying the sound of pure silence. No homework fights. No breakfast complaints. No “this teacher literally hates me” monologues. Just… nothing. Bliss. 😂

After 15 years of parenting a teenager, here are the truths nobody told me:
👉 You’ll go from genius to “knows NOTHING” overnight.
👉 Their phone is glued to their hand (yes, even in the shower).
👉 Every convo = a negotiation worthy of a law degree.
👉 Snacks will bankrupt you.
👉 They’ll break your heart & fix it in the same day.
👉 Their mess could win a physics award.
👉 The silence is sometimes scarier than the noise.
👉 Their room is a sovereign nation.
👉 Friends > Oxygen.
👉 And the rare moments of connection? Priceless. 💙

To fellow parents of teens: lower expectations, raise your snack budget, and remember—it’s still your child underneath the hormones & Wi-Fi. One day, we’ll even miss this chaos. (So they say 😉).

To you who keeps trying regardless of all the failures you had:

I am proud of you! It is not easy to face people after experiencing too many downfalls. It is not easy to show up again after disappointing those who expected too much from you. They can only see your failure but they can never see how you suffer from it. It’s okay. You’ve done everything, you’ve worked hard, and that’s enough.

It is so amazing to see you talking to yourself saying “it is never too late to try again” after the long run of unpaid efforts. You’ll never become the person you want to be in an instant but you’ll get there when you work hard patiently. There is nothing to be ashamed of yourself. Sometimes, life is about not having fear in disappointing people. Be who you want to be, not what people wants you to be.

To you who’s still trying,

In case you forgot who you are, you are that person who is always enough. So all you can do is to show to the world that you can always do better.

Stay smiling and let's get it rolling! We got this!

🌟 Happy 70th, Neerja Malik 🌟
Today we celebrate a woman who didn’t just survive life’s storms — she danced in the rain and taught the rest of us how to laugh through the thunder. ⚡️💃

Diagnosed with Cancer thrice , broken bones, surgeries, miscarriages — and yet, her spirit never fractured. Because she doesn’t fight life… she faces it. And in doing so, she became the face of resilience for thousands of souls who didn’t know how to breathe through their pain until she held their hand.

For over two decades, she’s been a lifeline, a counselor, a light. Whether at Apollo, in the Lok Sabha, or a hospital bedside at 2 AM — she shows up. With kindness. With faith. With her signature laugh that defies sorrow. 💛

Neerja, thank you for teaching us that God is not to be feared but to be trusted. That pain has purpose. And that if you listen closely — there’s still music in the chaos.

Your 70 looks like grace, grit, and glory — and I’m endlessly blessed to call you mentor. 💫

Here’s to more sunrises, more souls touched, and your voice echoing louder than ever.
Happy Birthday, Warrior Queen. 👑
