𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞.

Every couple should be screened for a genetic defect in their haemoglobin (Haemoglobinopathy like Thalassemia) before marriage or before planning for a pregnancy.

It is a social responsibility for all.

Eventually it decreases the burden of being a parent and also contribute to a healthy Society.

ଥାଲାସେମିଆ ହେଉଛି ଏକ ବଂଶଗତ ରକ୍ତ ଜନିତ ରୋଗ। ଜନ୍ମରୁ ହିଁ ରକ୍ତ ର ସଠିକ୍ ମାତ୍ରା ରେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି ନ ହୋଇ ପରିବା କାରଣରୁ ନିୟମିତ ଭାବରେ ରକ୍ତ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବା କୁ ପଡ଼ି ଥାଏ।

ଏହି ରୋଗ କୁ ଅଟକେଇବାର ଏକ ମାତ୍ର ଉପାୟ ନିଜ ରକ୍ତ ରେ ଥାଲାସେମିଆ ରୋଗର ଉପସ୍ଥିତି କୁ ଜାଣିବା। କାରଣ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଏହି ରୋଗ ର ବାହକ ବା କ୍ୟାରିୟର, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ର ପ୍ରାୟତ ଏହି ରୋଗର କୌଣସି ଲକ୍ଷଣ ଦେଖା ଯାଏନି। ପରବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ସମୟରେ, ସେମନେ ଯେବେ ମାତା - ପିତା ହୁଅନ୍ତି, ନିଜର ପିଲାକୁ ଥାଲାସେମିଆ ଜିନ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରାଇ ଥାଆନ୍ତି। ଏହି ପରି ଏହା ପିଢ଼ି ପରେ ପିଢ଼ି ବ୍ୟାପି ଚାଲିଥାଏ।

ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ପରିସ୍ଥିତି ରେ ଏହି ଅସୁବିଧା କୁ ଦୂର କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଦରକାର, ବିବାହ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ପୁଅ - ଝିଅ ମାନେ ନିଜର ଥାଲାସେମିଆ ଚେକ୍ ଅପ୍ କରିବା ଉଚିତ୍।

ଗର୍ଭ ଧାରଣ ପୂର୍ବରୁ ଦମ୍ପତି ମାନେ ଥାଲାସେମିଆ ରକ୍ତ ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରାଇ ନେବା ସହ ଏହି ବିଷୟ ରେ ଅଧିକ ଯତ୍ନବାନ ହେବା ଜରୁରୀ।

..that defines abnormal sickle shaped Red blood cells in blood due to the typical genetic makeup inherited from parents.

Beyond a limit, these cells when present in abundance creates nuisance to the vascular system and occlude the vessels.

This causes severe form of pain beyond our imagination!!!
That's called VASO- OCCLUSIVE CRISIS.
