Celebrating Guru Purnima: Honoring the Divine Teachers

Guru Purnima, a sacred and cherished festival. The culture that holds immense significance in the lives of devotees around the world. It is a day when we come together to pay homage and express our gratitude to the spiritual teachers or gurus who have guided and enlightened us on our spiritual journey. Join us as we explore the essence of Guru Purnima and the profound impact of gurus in our lives.

Guru Purnima, celebrated on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashadha, is a time-honored tradition that dates back thousands of years. The word "guru" in Sanskrit means "dispeller of darkness." This festival symbolizes the importance of the guru in our lives as the one who dispels the darkness of ignorance and leads us towards spiritual enlightenment.

Guru Purnima is an occasion to acknowledge the invaluable role played by spiritual guides in our lives. They are the beacons of wisdom, compassion, and guidance, leading us on the path of self-discovery and inner growth. This day serves as a reminder to express our gratitude for their tireless efforts in imparting spiritual knowledge and uplifting our souls.

The guru-disciple relationship is one of utmost trust, respect, and surrender. It is a sacred bond that transcends ordinary relationships. On Guru Purnima, disciples offer their heartfelt appreciation to their gurus through various acts of devotion, such as performing rituals, offering prayers, and seeking their blessings. This celebration is an opportunity to strengthen the guru-disciple connection and deepen the spiritual journey.

Guru Purnima not only honors individual gurus but also pays tribute to the lineage of spiritual masters who have imparted their wisdom over generations. It is a time to reflect on the teachings and legacies of great spiritual leaders like Gautam Buddha, Adi Shankaracharya, Shri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda, and countless others who have illuminated the path of spirituality.

On this auspicious day, spiritual seekers come together in ashrams, temples, and other sacred spaces to celebrate Guru Purnima. The atmosphere is filled with devotional fervor as devotees chant hymns, engage in meditation, and participate in spiritual discourses. Flowers, fruits, and other offerings are presented to gurus as a mark of respect and gratitude.

Guru Purnima is deeply rooted in Indian tradition and its essence transcends religious boundaries.

Guru Purnima serves as a beautiful reminder of the transformative power of the guru in our lives. It is a time to express our deep gratitude, seek blessings, and rededicate ourselves to the path of self-discovery and spiritual growth. Let us celebrate this auspicious day with reverence, devotion, and a renewed commitment to honor and cherish our spiritual teachers, for they are the guiding lights that illuminate our souls. Happy Guru Purnima to all !!

Gautam Buddha is considered as the 25th "Buddha", before him there were Deepankar, Kondanna, Mangal, Sumon, Revat etcetera 24 "Buddha Purusha" were there according to Kshudrakanika.
Deepankar Buddha was the foremost of all........

There is a very beautiful story which I feel to share with all

In the period of Deepankar Buddha, there was a poor boy lived in a small village with his parents, named Megh-Manav. He went to Gurugriha (place of Guru) to learn, to fulfill his thirst for knowledge. years passed and he successfully completed his sadhana with guru's blessing, but his parents were so poor that he couldn't even offer Gurudakshina. He decided to beg in the nearby city to get some gold to offer his guru as gurudakshina. One day he saw that all the houses, roads, shops, everything and everyone is being decorated with flowers......... In the meantime he met a very beautiful girl there, holding seven lotuses in her hands, Megha-Manav asked her the reason of that decoration and came to know that Deepankar Buddha was arriving to the city.... Hearing it He became so happy and wished to worship him, Megha-manav requested the girl to give him five lotus to offer Buddha and offered all the gold to the girl that he had begged to offer his guru in return.....
The girl agreed to give him all the lotuses but not in return of gold but she wished and proposed Megha-Manav to marry her.... As there was no other choice, Megha-Manav agreed with one condition that she would never try to restrict him in his sadhana..

Deepankar Buddha offered self liberation to Megha-Manav as blessing but he prayed the biggest, Megha-Manav said...... "oh my master I don't want self liberation, the long you will be effectively present in this world, I would wish to come again and again to consume all the pain and sorrows of living being in me, to pacify them and when your effectiveness will be faded, bless me my master, I could come as Buddha and find the way out of all sufferings, liberation for all"
With Buddha's blessing Megha-Manav was born as Siddhartha Goutam and achieved "Bodhi"

There is a very short and popular mantra, “SO HAM”, means “I AM THAT”. When a common practitioner chant this mantra or meditate with this mantra they generally feel very good, they feel connected and may experience a feeling of completeness or abundance but is it really so?....... Do we really feel one with everything? The flowing rivers, floating clouds, the rising Sun, the endless darkness of the universe, if we realize that we are these then why search for freedom! Are not we already free? Do we really feel the hunger with the hungry, unfed? Do we feel the pain of a wounded in our body? Do we ever feel one with anything or anyone that we consider as “BAD”?........we become very happy that “I am that BRAHMA, I am the supreme reality, I am the only one existing” and many more “I” thoughts So what is remaining? Why do the common practitioner feel complete or happy? …….because of this “I” factor. We go completely towards the opposite direction and just feed and grow the “AHAMKAR” , the “EGO”, the feeling of “I NESS” more and more. We keep moving far from the “THAT”.
It is easy to reach the “THAT” because it is there always, but it is very difficult to leave the “I”.
To realize “I AM THAT”, have to leave the “I”.

When an artist is busy creating his/her art, the artist forgets everything around, the artist then doesn’t need anything, he/she doesn’t even search for. A strange feeling of completeness, satisfaction covers the artist, he/she is the happiest then. Happiness comes to an artist during his/her creation, so easily, naturally.
Happiness, that we all are searching for is so simple, so easy to achieve………… Actually we don’t even need to achieve it or search for it , happiness comes naturally when we awake the artist, sleeping somewhere deep into our hearts.
How to awake the artist…………??
Calm down, keep the mind quiet, be focused, see everything keeping beauty and love in your eyes, in your heart, adapt good habits, think good and do great, have a hold over your thoughts, always keep the flowing spring of love spontaneous in your heart,,,…….. you will be the artist and your life will be the beautiful piece of your art.
Love yourself and love everyone, everything around.
🙏❤️
