⭐️One of the most challenging aspects of free gingival grafting in the posterior mandible is graft suturing, a difficult many clinicians face. In this case, I demonstrate the use of soft tissue micro-screws from Bioner, a Spanish company, as a solution. These micro-screws offer a simple, fast, and predictable technique, streamlining the surgery compared to traditional suturing. By avoiding the need for fiber repositioning, this method enhances surgical efficiency and outcomes.”

⭐️Fickl et al. (2009) pointed out that the thickness and quality of soft tissue can impact the development of peri-implant diseases. Thicker, keratinized tissue is more resistant to mechanical and bacterial insults, thereby decreasing the likelihood of recession and implant complications.Bouri et al. (2008):

This study investigated the correlation between the width of keratinized mucosa and peri-implant health. They found that implant sites with narrow or insufficient KM were more prone to soft tissue irritation and exhibited greater difficulty in maintaining oral hygiene.

Patients with reduced KM had higher levels of plaque accumulation and gingival inflammation, which increased the risk of developing peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis.

The study concluded that sufficient KM promotes better oral hygiene practices and helps protect the peri-implant soft tissues from inflammation.

⭐️Miyamoto et al. (2022):

This more recent study reinforced the findings of Bouri et al. It focused on the long-term health of peri-implant tissues in relation to the presence of keratinized mucosa.

Sites with reduced or absent KM were associated with increased soft tissue discomfort, especially during brushing or mastication. Patients in these cases had more difficulty maintaining proper hygiene, which predisposed them to peri-implant inflammation.

: 🦷 Anterior Implant with Block Bone Grafting: Elevating Aesthetics and Soft Tissue Profile 🦷

Precision in implantology goes beyond osseointegration—it’s about achieving optimal aesthetics and a harmonious soft tissue profile, especially in the anterior zone.

✨ Case Overview: This case involved anterior implant placement with block bone grafting, essential for restoring bone volume and achieving the desired soft tissue contour. The meticulous handling of soft tissue ensured a natural and pleasing emergence profile, critical for long-term success and patient satisfaction.

🔍 Key Highlights:

Block Bone Grafting: Vital for rebuilding bone volume in resorbed areas, ensuring proper implant placement and stability.
Soft Tissue Management: Enhanced soft tissue profile for improved aesthetics, mimicking natural gingival contours.
Aesthetic Focus: Seamless integration of the implant with surrounding tissues, resulting in a natural-looking restoration that blends perfectly with adjacent teeth.
💡 Takeaway: Successful anterior implant cases require not only technical precision but also a deep understanding of soft tissue dynamics and aesthetics. The end goal is a restoration that’s functionally robust and visually indistinguishable from natural dentition.

In implantology, it’s essential to adapt techniques to the unique needs of each patient. While palatal and transnasal implants are gaining popularity, many patients still require the tried-and-true methods of bone grafting and soft tissue grafting to achieve optimal outcomes. 🦷✨
In implant dentistry, precise bone management is crucial for successful outcomes. Here’s a glimpse into a recent procedure involving Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) on the buccal and palatal aspects after careful cleaning around the incisive canal.
GBR involves regenerating bone in a specific area to support dental implants. It’s essential for cases where bone volume needs enhancement for implant stability and aesthetic results.

Procedure Highlights:

Step 1: Thorough cleaning around the incisive canal to prepare the area.
Step 2: Placement of autogenous with Regneross bone graft material to stimulate bone growth.
Step 3: osseoguard Membrane placement to protect the graft and enhance regeneration.
For nasopalatine canal grafting, I prefer using the 2-piece membrane technique. This method offers improved adaptation and outcomes compared to the single membrane approach. 🦷✨ ̇mplantdentistry
