30 year young male chronic alcoholic ,pulmonary tuberculosis defaulter came to emergency with breathing difficulty,agitation and restlessness.

Patient was admitted with diagnosis alcohol withdrawal and ptb defaulter.

Patient was managed conservatively on thiamine, librium ,benzodiazipines and other supportive treatment.

After 10 days of hospital stay patient devlops fever drowsiness agitated with co2 retention on mechanical ventilator with no neck stiffnes.

Mri brain and lumbar punture done both gets mix picture of viral tubercular.

Treatment started with steroids antiviral and att patient start responding after 5 days of treatment shifted from icu after 20 days.

Total duration of treatment in hospital was 35 days.

From nowhere to some where.
Discharging my patient today.

His family is totally dependent upon him on daily wages.

Happy patient with his parents makes me more humble with full gratitude.

👉 Hepatitis A – spreads through contaminated food/water

👉 Hepatitis C – blood-borne; common in unsafe injection or transfusion practices
👉 Hepatitis D – only occurs with Hepatitis B
👉 Hepatitis E – spreads through contaminated water
