विश्व एड्स दिवस के मौके पर केंद्र सरकार ने पिछले 15 वर्षों में HIV/AIDS के खिलाफ देश की प्रगति पर एक विस्तृत रिपोर्ट जारी की है। रिपोर्ट के अनुसार भारत ने जांच, उपचार और रोकथाम के क्षेत्र में उल्लेखनीय सफलता हासिल की है।

सरकार की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, पिछले 15 साल में एचआईवी के नए मामलों में 48.7% की कमी दर्ज की गई है, जबकि वैश्विक स्तर पर यह गिरावट 40% रही है। इस तरह नए संक्रमणों को कम करने में भारत की उपलब्धि वैश्विक औसत से बेहतर है।

रिपोर्ट में यह भी बताया गया कि एड्स से होने वाली मौतों में भारत ने 81.4% की भारी गिरावट दर्ज की है, जो विश्व औसत 54% की तुलना में काफी अधिक है। विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार यह उपलब्धि समय पर HIV टेस्ट, ART इलाज की बढ़ती पहुंच, और समुदाय स्तर पर व्यापक जागरूकता अभियानों के कारण संभव हो सकी है।

केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने कहा कि देश का लक्ष्य आने वाले वर्षों में HIV संक्रमण की दर को और कम करना और एड्स से होने वाली मौतों को पूरी तरह समाप्त करना है। सरकार ने लोगों से अपील की है कि वे समय-समय पर HIV जांच कराएं, सुरक्षित व्यवहार अपनाएं और भेदभाव-मुक्त समाज बनाने में सहयोग करें।

विश्व एड्स दिवस 1 दिसंबर 2025 के अवसर पर उत्तराखंड राज्य एड्स नियंत्रण सोसाइटी की ओर से गांधी पार्क में HIV/AIDS जागरूकता रैली का आयोजन किया गया। रैली में बड़ी संख्या में स्वयंसेवकों, स्वास्थ्यकर्मियों, विद्यार्थियों और सामाजिक संस्थाओं के प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया।

कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य आम लोगों में HIV/AIDS के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाना, इससे जुड़े मिथकों को दूर करना और सुरक्षित एवं जिम्मेदार व्यवहार को अपनाने के लिए प्रेरित करना था। रैली के दौरान प्रतिभागियों ने जागरूकता संदेश वाली तख्तियाँ लेकर शहरवासियों को HIV परीक्षण, सुरक्षित संबंध और भेदभाव-मुक्त समाज बनाने का संदेश दिया।

अधिकारियों ने बताया कि समय पर HIV टेस्ट, नियमित परामर्श और उपचार से HIV पूरी तरह नियंत्रित किया जा सकता है। इस अवसर पर ‘स्टॉप स्टिग्मा, स्टार्ट अवेयरनेस’ का संदेश भी दिया गया।

HIV is preventable — protect yourself with these simple steps:

✔️ Use condoms every time you have s*x
✔️ Get tested regularly and know your HIV status
✔️ Never share needles or injection equipment
✔️ Talk openly with your partner about safe s*x
✔️ Take treatment early — ART reduces the risk of transmission
✔️ Pregnant women should get tested to prevent mother-to-child transmission
✔️ Use PEP after any possible exposure and PrEP for ongoing protection
