We thoroughly enjoyed attending the “Peels in Facial Melanosis” workshop on April 27th at the Hyatt Centric, Rajpur Road.

The session was expertly led by Dr. Niti Khunger, Professor and Head of Dermatology at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.

As the president of the IADVL Dehradun, it was enriching to engage with fellow dermatologists and learn more about the latest techniques involving various peels and the innovative use of the nanopore pen.

I extend my thanks to all the practicing and budding dermatologists from Dehradun and surrounding areas who made the evening a significant success.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this valuable academic fest, and I look forward to our continued growth and learning in future events.

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune condition that speeds up the lifecycle of skin cells, causing them to build up rapidly on the surface of the skin.

The exact cause of psoriasis isn’t fully understood, but it’s thought to be related to an immune system issue with T cells and other white blood cells, known as neutrophils, in your body.

Psoriasis triggers include stress, certain medications, cold weather, and infections.
Common signs and symptoms include red patches of skin covered with thick, silvery scales, dry cracked skin that may bleed, itching, burning, and soreness, thickened, pitted, or ridged nails, and swollen and stiff joints.

Treatment aims to stop the skin cells from growing so quickly and to remove scales.
Options vary from topical treatments (creams and ointments), phototherapy (light therapy), to systemic medications, including biologic drugs for severe cases.
