Had an amazing Sunday at Baroda Ophthalmic society Cataract annual update.
Spoke for a good 3 hours giving almost 8 lectures on various aspects of advanced cataract surgery from perfect biometry to ideal presbyopia correcting lens selection to the finer nuances of modern Refractive Cataract surgery and the most challenging surgeries as well.
The audience was amazing with a full house right till finish for a late lunch time.
The BOS organizers Dr Nita Mehta, Dr Kuntal Shah and Dr Anil Patil were outstanding hosts. Got to meet several good friends from Baroda as well.

Whirlwind trip to Kolkata for an amazing meeting organized by Global Eye Hospital team.
Enjoyed demonstrating Live surgery of two tough cataract cases with new technology lenses allowing both reading and distance vision without glasses besides guest lectures on new technologies in Specs removal surgeries and premium lens implants.
Fantastic meeting venue, Raajkutir and amazing hospitality.

Dr Gaurav Luthra is an alumnus of Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. Currently he is the Director and Chief of Cataract & Refractive Surgery at Drishti Eye Institute, Dehradun, India since 1998.

His areas of interest are Refractive Surgery, Pediatric & Challenging Cataract Surgery, Premium IOLs and Keratoconus.

A past president of Intraocular Implant & Refractive Society of India (IIRSI) he is currently the Chairman, Academics & Research, IIRSI and a Member, Scientific Committee, All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) besides being the Honorary General Secretary of UKSOS. Dr Luthra is regularly invited as a faculty at ASCRS, ESCRS, American Academy, APAO and APACRS. He has successfully performed over 100 live surgery workshops demonstrating latest cataract & refractive surgical techniques around the world.

Dr Luthra has been honored by the prestigious IIRSI Gold Medal 2008 & Subodh Agarwal Gold Medal 2013, given for exemplary work in Cataract & Refractive surgery. He was invited to deliver the Dr Ravi Kumar Reddy Oration during the 2nd Annual Conference of TSOS at Hyderabad 2016.
