On popular demand I m sharing this story as a post here. Doctors like Dr. Mahima Agrawal] .aboutwomenobgyn also agree that instagram is a platform on which a lot of times wrong info is being spread by not so qualified people.
But this is next level!

My friend Dr. Mahima Agrawal]
Is a Dermatologist , I m a gynaecologist and we both see patients who DO NOT wash their v***a properly and land up with dirty, smelly stuff down there.

So for once n for all :
1. Do not put anything inside the va**na . ( the tubular canal )

2. Wash ur v***a ( the external genitalia) with soap and water. Just water won't do.

3. You do not need any special intimate washes . No need of any perfumes.

4. The key to have a good hygiene is to keep it clean and keep it dry and, dry it properly.

5. If you want to clear doubts on anything please consult the concerned doctor . Do not believe anything n everything on social media.

6. Doctors spend a good 10- 15 years studying and seeing patients. And then even further on we keep in touch , we keep our knowledge updated..

P.S. Ultimately it is your own choice what u want to do with your body.

There are times when we have patients who have really been through challenges throughout their pregnancy. When this patient came to me the first time she had a thick endometrial lining which had been labelled as incomplete abortion requiring D and C.
There was no history indicative of an abortion.
We did serial beta hcg tests, it was rising appropriately so we waited and it was indeed a perfectly healthy fetus !
She had gastroenteritis and Dengue too subsequently in her later part of pregnancy. But everything was managed and taken care of, I admire her for her strength and calmness and composure. To have had so much patience n trust !
It's great when the mommies come back with the babies just to meet ❤ . God bless you little one 🙏 ❤

When your post caesarean patient has the following complaints:

"Doctor i m feeling absolutely normal, is Caesaean a minor surgery ?
Everyone scared me, told me i ll be confined to bed, but i m feeling comfortable walking, i have no pain , i am actually feeling good and normal!"

Then that makes us smile real big and know we did a fair job!!

Shagun had a breech presentation ( baccha ulta ) for which her birth plan was for a caesarean section. Universally the guidelines are to opt for a caesarean delivery for a breech presentation in a primi.

I realise there are a lot of myths around caesarean section.

1. A caesarean delivery does not mean you ll be in pain for the rest of your life .

2. You dont have to keep lying down in bed after a Caesarean.

3.Caesarean section methods have really improved over the years, the scan is barely visible and one can still wear their favourite clothes.

4. As far as possible we try to go for Normal va**nal delivery. If there is any complication for the mother or baby, we choose to go for a caesarean delivery.

It is so do share your delivery experience and if you have any concerns regarding caesarean section!!!

This year the motto of World health Day is . Let us all take steps to make the world more sustainable for the generations to come, for our children. Every new life deserves clean air, clean water. So let us all individually contribute in making our Earth a better place to live!

it seems like a converging point between our professions !

What everyone sees: Normal delivery, baby boy born, healthy mother, healthy baby , time of birth 1:11 am.

What remains unseen : got call in the middle of my sleep , Husband and my daughter came with me , daughter stayed in the car - awake till 2:30 am ( she is 2.5 years old), stayed up will 5am.

Next day back to normal work- OPDs , surgeries .Relieved and happy that all went well , that all my patients ( touchwood) are healthy, happy , recovering well.

Dr. Archana had a similar routine, working, managing her kids, working hard being both. And all of a sudden her world just changed.
From being compared to God , she was labelled as a Murderer.

How can any Doctor deal with that ?

To be really honest no Doctor would ever leave any stone unturned to save their Patient.

Every Gynaecologist in this universe has only two things in mind - saving the mother and saving the baby -
Did the baby cry ?
Is the heart beat good ?
Did the uterus contract ?
Did the bleeding stop?
Is my patient doing okay ?
Did she fart ?
Did she pass urine ?
Did she pass stool ?

And trust me, when everything is in order we are the happiest people ❤❤.

We are here to do our best work.
Let us feel safe.
Let us feel respected.
Let us feel like a human.
Let us feel like we deserve to live happily too.

It is very important to be prepared mentally, physically and emotionally before becoming sexually active.
If one is ever in doubt - say NO.
Its important to make sure that one gets the right guidance. I hope this helps.
P.S. this is generalised advise.
