It was a wonderful experience being a part of the People's Festival of Innovation and attending their Diamond Jubilee Science Cluster at the India International Centre. They put together a fantastic gathering to promote dialogue between scientists and policymakers and were graced by various eminent people from various fields. Being in the presence of some of the most esteemed professors, researchers, and scientists in the nation and seeing their knowledge put to use was incredible.

Infection is a critical issue, especially in the ICU where almost 60-80% of patients develop infections. Still, 60% of all ICU patients receive prophylactic antibiotics due to delayed test (culture/PCR) results for up to 2-5 days. As per a WHO review, Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a global threat, causing one person's death every 45th second in 2019., it can be one death every 3rd second by 2050, if not reduced now.

Problem: Infection is difficult to detect in less than 2 days.

Solution: Our electrochemical DNA biosensor is based on microfabrication technology to detect microbial infection and AMR in just < 90 minutes.
