Looking to Improve your Gut Health? Check out this post!
Firstly, Here's a little something about Gut Health and why you should neglect it only at your peril.
Good gut health occurs when you have a balance between the good (helpful) and bad (potentially harmful) bacteria and yeast in your digestive system. In fact, 80% of your immune system is in the gut, and the majority of your body’s serotonin is, too. This means if your gut isn’t healthy, then your immune system and hormones won’t function, and you will get sick.
Thus to keep your gut health & maintain your mental health, follow these 3 Do's & Don't. Let's begin with the 3 Dont's.
1. Avoid excessive raw food and eat food that's cooked in general. If you have bad gut health, ease your way by eating majorly cooked food. Once your Gut Health Improves, ideally, maintain a balance between the two.
2. Avoid Over-Processed and Sugary Foods (Eg - A Typical Mcdonalds Happy Meal - Burger, Fries, and Coke isn't Happy for your Gut.)
3. Avoid foods with irritants like Mushrooms, Urad Dal, Tea & Coffee as per your body type (In a healthy gut situation if there are no symptoms of Poor Gut Health, one can have these foods in moderation, but in a Bad Gut Health Scenario, 3 Cups of Coffee isn't helping one-bit and is instead aggravating what we're trying to reverse)
4. Do mindful fasting to revive your gut bacteria. (12-16 Hours is an ideal time to start the process to reset your Gut)
5. Drink Alkaline Water. (P.S. - The water from our typical RO is not alkaline and has a pH very close to 7)
6. Add Foods like Broccoli, Carrot, Sweet Potato, Ginger, Grapes, Kiwi, and Mix Seeds.
