Day 6. Phylogenetic trees built. COVID-19 genome explored. All in one session. 🧬🌍

Here is what our participants accomplished today 👇
🔹 Built and interpreted phylogenetic trees in MEGA X using neighbour-joining
🔹 Generated time trees and pairwise distance matrices for full evolutionary profiling
🔹 Chose between three tree-building algorithms — and understood why the choice matters
🔹 Dissected gene architecture in NCBI Map Viewer — mRNA, CDS, protein products layer by layer
🔹 Explored the UCSC Genome Browser COVID-19 portal — updated hourly with global research data
🔹 Mapped SARS-CoV-2 mutations across 119 vertebrate species and classified them by functional impact

From a single protein sequence on Day 1 to whole-genome comparative analysis on Day 6.
