Attending the 51st ICRO Teaching Course at Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences Bengaluru, was a truly enriching academic experience. This year’s program focused on paediatric and haematological malignancies, featuring insightful sessions led by national authorities in the field — Dr. Laskar, Dr. Jayesh, Dr Rimpa and Dr. Senapati (President AROI)among other distinguished faculty.
I had the privilege of speaking on “Radiation for Hodgkin Lymphoma” — a subject that beautifully reflects the journey of evolution in radiotherapy techniques, disease understanding, and survivorship care. Radiation therapy in Hodgkin lymphoma has indeed been redefined — with contemporary practice embracing the lessons of late effects, trial-based refinements in dose and volume, and evidence-guided precision through frameworks like the ILROG guidelines.
The course offered not just valuable insights for students but also meaningful academic exchange for the faculty. My heartfelt appreciation to the organising team at Vydehi - Dr Geetha and Dr Arpitha, and to the ICRO and AROI office bearers whose dedication has made this platform an enduring legacy for over two decades.
A special note of gratitude to Dr. Pooja Nandwani, Secretary, ICRO and Dr Srinivasan Secretary General AROI for the kind invitation and for seamlessly coordinating this academic endeavour.
